In reading other reviews, it is hard to imagine what people expect when they come to Yellowstone. It is NOT a luxury resort. It is a beautiful old hotel, smack dab in the middle of an area preserving the past. It is easy to imagine what it would have looked like in the 20's, with model T's parked in front... More

The lack of hotels in Yellowstone (and the limited months it is open for) means that this hotel - while packed - is lacking basic requirements that you would certainly expect for the price. Firstly there is no phone signal. And no wifi although you can connect to broadband in the room for a fee. It is clear that the... More

Compared with the rates charged for the Lodge, the Pioneer cabin was cheap. That said, the room size was adequate, and though the small attached cabin was not renovated, the furnishings though primitive were also adequate. OK for 2 people, I would not recommend it for more.

We stayed in a Suite with living room and separate bedroom. Beautiful view from living room window of the lake. Lots of room, large bathroom, refrigerator and bar area in living room. The sofa had the back to the window, it would have been nice to be arranged so that you had the view when sitting on the sofa. We... More

It's a shame that accommodations in the National Parks are so over priced and difficult to reserve! Our room at Lake Yellowstone was in the Annex and was clean, comfortable, and roomy enough, but just adequate. It certainly lacks the apparent charm and quality of the Hotel. The location was great (except for Yellowstone road closings), and being here for... More

I was very skeptical about booking the cabin but couldn't get a reservation at the hotel. It seems these cabins are a notch above other cabins we stayed at in the parks. Clean, comfy beds, clean rugs, fresh paint, and somewhat modern. Great location and all we did was sleep there. Any free time was spent at the beautiful hotel.... More

Stayed here in July 2013, and June 2014. Initial stay was less than ideal. We were in the main hotel, but in a room that had not been renovated. Understand that you are staying in a 100 year old wooden hotel, that is open 100 nights a year. Reminded me of condemned barracks on a military post. Almost got in... More

My friends and I stayed-in at this cabin for 1 night in September 2014. Anyway, when we saw the building and the front desk that we checked-in, we thought that we were in another better hotel. Unfortunately, our reservation was a cabin. At least we had our own shower and toilet. We have to drive to the Lake Lodge Cabin's... More

This place is fabulous! However, if you get stuck in the Annex, you are in big trouble. Our room was so bad (mildew smell, dark, small, sterile, dirty and more) that I immediately spoke to management. The main hotel (the yellow building) was full, so we managed one night in our Annex room. We were moved the next day and... More

Beautiful hotel. We stayed in September 2014 in the renovated queen rooms (reserved 3 rooms) overlooking the lake. The view was wonderful. The atmosphere was very nice. Loved the music in the lobby in the evenings overlooking the lake. We also stopped by the Lake Lodge building one evening to sit in their rocking chairs and enjoy their fireplace. Was... More
