This is our favorite place to stay when we visit Yellowstone. We love the great room with comfortable seating, a pianist, beverages and wonderful views of the lake surrounded by mountains. We stayed in a King Superior room with a lake view. This proved to be a very large room with a sitting area. The hotel had just opened the... More

A visit to Yellowstone should be a special experience which is, unfortunately, not enhanced by the limited and outdated accommodations that are available in the park. Restricted availability, no competition and a 4-month season means that costs are going to be high – as they are – but high costs need to be answered by at least reasonable amenity, which... More

The hotel was beautiful, and I realize the price is due to location, but the food was extremely over-priced for the quality. The dining service was poor, I think they forgot about us at one point. And housekeeping was completely awful. We stayed there 4 days and our room wasn't vacuumed once, some days they didn't take out our trash... More

All very good. We were here in mid May and the hotel had only been open one week. All the staff were pleasant but lack of experience showed in most cases - restaurant staff had a new things to learn and needed to speed up, reception staff needed to check their information was accurate...etc. Overall excellent though. Hotel is beautiful,... More

Our cabin was about 5 minutes walk to the main hotel. Everything is old except for the sink. The door has a small gap. I can imagine mosquitoes coming into the room during the summer months. Not much else to say except that the staff are nice and efficient. We paid about $170. Glad we only stayed one night.

The hotel itself looks wonderful. The lobby and main floor look recently updated. I thought I was booking a room in the hotel (especially given the price $211 - ouch). Turns out that a standard double isn't actually in the main hotel, but is across the way the the "Sandpiper" which is to say the Annex. Given the price we... More

This was one of the best lodging experiences I've ever had. The staff was exceptionally cordial and hospitable. The amenities were impeccable; accommodations rustic modern, but pristine! Dining was an experience in itself. Formal, with very attentive wait staff, My meal was expertly prepared and served. Although I traveled and dined alone, I noted with admiration the attentiveness and accommodation... More

I met family in Yellowstone for a little spring break and I was so amazed at the views and the hotel was not a disappointment. Being an outdoor lover, I was in heaven. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The wildlife is spectacular!

If you would like to get your teens away from electronics for a little while definitely go here. At first I was hesitant finding that I had no service but I learned to enjoy it very much. We stayed in the cabin and it was a wonderful experience. This place also has two welcoming bison roaming around the hotel. Feel... More

The Lake View Hotel is a classically beautiful building, a real grande old dame. Looking through the windows the rooms inside look very nice and standard hotel rooms mostly occupied by tour groups and older travellers. We stayed in the cabins which are like slightly posh sheds. NIce ensuite, no wifi and no TV. But wildlife EVERYWHERE. Nothing like walking... More
