So this was our first trip to yellowstone. And as honeymooners, we were suggested to stay at Lake hotel, nothing else!So we did. We were lucky to have found a room at this hugely popular hotel. It's location & breakfast make it the most charming place we have stayed in. Our room was on the ground floor so we couldn't... More

We were pleasantly surprised at how quiet and peaceful this part of the park was. We were in an older room - not yet renovated with a Lake View. The room was clean and practical and suited our needs- we generally don't spend a lot of time in the room and only use it for resting so it was more... More

Because this was a "splurge", we were surprised at how very small and basic our room was. The public areas of this old hotel have been spruced up, but the accommodations haven't been. I tried to enter the spirit of old style park life, with no TV or internet (Wifi was available, at a cost, elsewhere), but it just wasn't... More

We were fortunate to get one of the renovated rooms. It was lovely! The room was huge, the bathroom was very clean and luxurious feeling. We were thrilled to be staying in this lovely historic hotel. We also enjoyed a cocktail in the lobby while a string quartet played beautifully. Highly recommend and would love to return!

I stay at the Yellowstone Lake Hotel annually. I've stayed at both the hotel proper and the cabins. Highly recommend the Hotel over the cabins. The hotel is old to say the least, walls are paper thin and no tv's. The lounge lobby area serves cocktails and has numerous sitting areas with incredible views out over Yellowstone Lake. You need... While we booked six months ahead of time, we had to stay in a different lodge in each night because almost everything was booked. Actually, this turned out to be fun since we got to really explore the area around each place. The Lake Hotel was our first night. Our room overlooked the parking lot rather than the lake but... The location of Yellowstone lake hotel was great, right in the heart of the park, which made driving to the different sites of the park that much more convenient and a time saver. The hotel itself was another matter, outdated and in need of management shake-up to get their staff to function. We felt that the hotel was run by college... More

Its location on Yellowstone Lake alone makes this a fantastic place to spend a night or two. Try to get an even-numbered room for the best views. Our room was provided with a fan, but there was no handy outlet to plug it in. This was our only complaint. Remember that in a national park, there are no nearby distribution... More

The setting for Lake Yellowstone is beautiful but the accommodations were horrible. The room smelled, the rug was dirty and the chair in the room was stained. The sink for the bathroom was on the wall outside of the bathroom. Paint around the windowsills was peeling off and laying all over the floor, they must never vacuum. Asked to have... More

We stayed in the main hotel - and although we didn't have a lake view we nevertheless enjoyed our stay. We took advantage of the easy walk to the lakeside for stunning views, then went back in and sat with our drinks in the spacious, convivial lounge overlooking the lake and mountains. A pianist played classics from the great American... More
