We stayed in a one bedroom suite for 2 nights. The room was nice but, again small which is normal for the Yellowstone area. The staff was friendly and helpful. The surrounding area around the hotel was very scenic and we even seen a 2.5 year old grizzly bear cub - he liked the area and they rangers could not... More

We stayed in a cabin. It was warm and cozy. The kids loved to go out and hike. It was very clean and had great soap and coffee with a kreig maker. In the lobby of the main hotel there was a orchestra playing.

We had a great day driving, saw lots of wildlife, and then checked into the cabin. We also had a very nice dinner at Lake Yellowstone Hotel. Any and all of these hotels and cabins are good but the lodges are the best.

As I always note in my Yellowstone accommodation reviews, there are multiple lodging types at each location in the park. This one is for the Lake Hotel Sandpiper Lodge, which was formerly known as the Lake Hotel Annex. Also at this location are Lake Hotel rooms and the Lake Hotel Frontier cabins. It can be confusing to read other reviews... More

We spent two nights here on a trip from Rapid City to Jackson Hole. As we were driving from Gardiner (Yellowstone North Entrance) that day and taking in scenery on the way, we emailed the hotel to book dinner both nights for 20.00. When we checked in at about 18.30 we asked about our dinner reservations, as we had had... More

I gotta admit, I wasn't expecting a whole lot when I booked a cabin at the Lake Yellowstone Lodge and Cabins, but we were pleasantly surprised! They're clean yet quaint, and a welcome escape from many resort properties that are way overbuilt for their environment. I would stay here again in a heartbeat! It's location near the center of the... More

Close to nature, the cabines are not very recent and need a renovation. But you feel nature altough only a few minutes from the already renovated main building. They say the renovation is not a success, but we appreciated the launche with live classic music, the bar and the buffet restaurant (rather expencive but good; a little to less for... More

In reading other reviews, it is hard to imagine what people expect when they come to Yellowstone. It is NOT a luxury resort. It is a beautiful old hotel, smack dab in the middle of an area preserving the past. It is easy to imagine what it would have looked like in the 20's, with model T's parked in front... More

The lack of hotels in Yellowstone (and the limited months it is open for) means that this hotel - while packed - is lacking basic requirements that you would certainly expect for the price. Firstly there is no phone signal. And no wifi although you can connect to broadband in the room for a fee. It is clear that the... More

Compared with the rates charged for the Lodge, the Pioneer cabin was cheap. That said, the room size was adequate, and though the small attached cabin was not renovated, the furnishings though primitive were also adequate. OK for 2 people, I would not recommend it for more.
