These "cabins" should not be confused with the yellow ones located in back of the Lake Hotel. Those looked like little yellow hovels. So glad those were not what we booked. Those were very close together, yellow, peeling, no appeal at all. The Lodge cabins we stayed in were recently renovated with rustic log furniture. Each had a Kuerig coffee maker... More

We arrived the cabins after 10pm. If you have big bags, it takes some efforts to walk with them until you find your cabin. The cabins are warm in the evening. Clean and cozy. However, the sink was not working. We had to use the shower to brush teeth in the morning. We saw some buffaloes out of the cabin... More

The Lake Lodge Cabins are good enough for sleeping, but they are old and it would probably be a good idea to renovate them soon. The price is about the same as a rough rider cabin without bathroom at Roosevelt Lodge. Although the Lake Lodge Cabins have bathrooms, I would prefer staying at Roosevelt, because those cabins have a better... More

This lodge is worth staying at just for the main lodge itself, with a long covered porch, lined with rocking chairs, overlooking Yellowstone Lake. Good interiors as well, with a couple of cozy fireplaces and a little bar. The cafeteria had some variety and was very well priced. Now for the downside: the cabins. We stayed in a Western Cabin... These cabin were recently renovated. Clean and had a Kerig coffee maker and coffee! The location was great for going to Hayden Valley in the evening. Lake Hotel was fun to relax in the lobby and listen to the piano playing. The store offered a variety of things and the lodge was nice and relaxing. The only thing bad about... More

We sat in the car a few minutes before going in to prep our children about how the cabins were in 1999, when we last visited. We told them to not complain about the musty smell or shabby furnishings. Then we went in - WOW! Completely remodeled and new. Superb decorations; smelled clean and fresh.

We stayed in a Queen West cabin for two nights at the end of our trip. We began our trip at Old Faithful Snow Lodge which is considered one of the newer upgraded lodging choices. We much preferred our experience at the Lake Lodge. The outside of the cabins are outdated looking and somewhat resemble military barracks but don't let... More

These lodgings are rustic clean and conveniently located. You can choose to eat in the cafeteria, the counter at the gift shop or the hotel. The lakeside location is beautiful and a good place to see annals.

Back to the 50's again...with a free standing water heater right in bedroom. These cabins could benefit from some winterproofing even in the summer. It was 32 degrees on July 3 and it was 50 degrees in the cabin because we couldn't get the wall heater adjusted correctly and just shut it off. Bad lighting, weird shower mechanism looked like... Stayed in the Western Cabin and so glad we did because they are larger and have good size windows --- even a table and chair to play card games. The little brown cabins looked horrific and people said they were stuffy and hot. They don't seem to have trees around them and so many sit out in the hot sun.... More
