On our trip through Yellowstone we stayed in cabins at Roosevelt Lodge, Mammoth Hot Springs, and Lake Lodge. Mammoth Hot Springs' cabins were beautiful, well-kept, and heated, but had no bathroom and the location is not the best for seeing everything in the park. Roosevelt Lodge had cabins that were beautiful and well-kept, but no bathroom and not heated (except... More

We've now stayed at Lake Lodge Cabins on four occasions and we've never been disappointed. They have upgraded facilities since our last trip and recategorised their cabins- which meant our usual booking was for a smaller cabin this time. Despite this they provide cosy good quality accommodation in an incredible national park, with its own team of bison to amuse/bemuse... More

We spent three nights here on a recent trip to Yellowstone. It was during the last week that the cabins were open, which could explain some things we observed. On the positive side, the cabins are roomy. The don't look like much on the outside, but are fairly nice on the inside. Our room had two queen beds and a... More

I was a bit concerned about booking our stay after reading some of the other reviews. I shouldn't have been. Sure this isn't a 5 star resort, but what are you going to Yellowstone for? The accommodations are rustic, to be sure. They are also clean and definitely a cut above camping out, with a lavatory, toilet, and shower in... More

We stayed in a pioneer cabin for 6 nights and it was perfect. Sure the heater is old school but it does the job. The shower had hot water and its nice to chill at the lake lodge in the evenings (a two minute walk). Sure the price is a little high if you consider the cabin in isolation, but... More

We stayed in the Pioneer Cabins. We wouldn't want to come back. Pros: * They provide a warm bed and a warm shower. * Great location for exploring the eastern part of Yellowstone (for the western part, stay in West Yellowstone outside the park). * This is the last lodge in this part of Yellowstone to shut down for the... Plan early...as in, at least 3-6 months in advance, if you wanna stay inside Yellowstone NP, esp. during the summer months....I highly recommend it, as the drive from the nearest 'town' of West Yellowstone into the closest Yellowstone entrance is an hour (depending on whether you're lucky enough to encounter wild life en-route...and then, who wouldn't stop...for wildlife??) We were... More

Although we had done our research & knew that these cabins would be pretty basic, we were still quite shocked when we saw what they the exteriors looked like! However, once through the door we were pleasantly relieved. Yes, they are small - but they were clean & warm enough for the weather conditions at the time, & the coffee... More

We stayed in a one double bed pioneer cabin for two nights on a recent trip to Yellowstone. We booked over six months in advance. We knew this cabin would be rustic, but enjoyed it because of the location and amenities-- rustic main lodge with fireplaces, cafeteria with reasonably priced food, rocking chairs on the porch, and access to laundromat.... We have stayed at many of the lodges in Yellowstone, including the nearby Lake Hotel, which is now too expensive. We were fortunate to reserve a newly renovated Western cabin at the Lake Lodge for 3 nights for the latter part of our weeklong stay. They don't look like much from the outside but the inside is comfortable and clean... More
