I'm a huge fan of Trip Advisor and consult other's travel experience as I make plans for our own travel. I made reservations at the Old Faithful Inn a year in advance, which is pretty typical I've since learned. My husband had been to Yellowstone before but this was my first time. We flew from Virginia to Salt Lake City... More

The lobby area will take your breath away with huge stone fireplace with attached giant pendulum clock. The multi-story log infrastructure is an engineering marvel. The location adjacent to Old Faithful made geyser viewing incredibly convenient. You don't have to leave the hotel to observe if the weather is bad. The dining room serves ample and delicious food. The adjacent... More

Came here 45 years ago with our five month son and now we are back just to stay at the Old Faithful Inn...an architectural wonder. We had a standard bedroom in the west wing ($199) which was just that "standard" but it did have a nice bathroom and a bison right out the window on the first floor. The best... More

Equally impressive as Old Faithful, the Inn was possibly more spectacular. With a rich history-keeping guests looking up at a 200 foot tall fireplace and a copper face pendulum clock in the lobby, under a 5 story wooden structure, you feel like you are in another time. There are so many unique things like looking out the window and seeing... More

This is the must stay place when visiting Yellowstone. Check in was busy but fast and efficient. Bell staff was fast, courteous and professional. Rooms are rustic as expected. Lobby is jaw dropping in it's majesty. We ended up getting two rooms with a shared bathroom. Just our two rooms shared the bathroom so that was not a problem but... More

I made a reservation for two nights at the Old Faithful Inn starting on the 16th of May 2015. The experience turned out to be very negative on three important counts. 1. Total absence on internet connection in the whole building. This is not due to technical reasons. The adjoining Snow Lodge, run jointly with the Inn by the same... More

We had a standard room which came with a queen bed, a shower and toilet, plenty of cupboard space, a window that opened, a coffee maker and excellent housekeeping arrangements. I mention all this because reading other submissions we had been afraid of something substandard and that was very far from our experience. The hotel is a huge timber structure... More

We arrived May16th and left May 18th. There are three generators which can power the three main buildings on this property if the electricity fails. The electricity failed May 17th and only one generator worked. They had a rolling blackout so each of the three main buildings had power for a few hours at a time. They told me they... More

(1) Parking your car can be complicated if the parking lot in front of the hotel is full. The overflow lot is in back of the Inn and it is shared by the Old Faithful Lodge and the Visitors Center. For first time visitors, especially if you arrive at dusk or at night, the roads are confusing, not clearly marked,... More

Old Faithful Inn is a unique experience. If you're looking for luxury and extras you won't find it here. If you're looking for an historic experience where you step back into a bygone era and nostalgic surroundings then you'll be pleased with your choice. The experience of seeing the amazing features of Yellowstone National Park is the reason for visiting... More
