This classic Inn takes full advantage of his monopolistic position next to the Old Faithful Geyser and relatively close to many of the other must-see hot springs such as Morning Glory and the Grand Prismatic. Likes are its location and the impressive lobby area. Dislikes are the sheer number of people staying at and moving around the property. It's huge.... More

We were there in October 2013. We were expecting a hotel that was a destination hotel but that was not the case. The facility is beautiful but Xanterra does a poor job of running it. They know they have a captive market and run it accordingly. Upon arrival, the bellman told us not to eat in the restaurant unless we... More

We stayed here one night (only could get one night booking 6 months in advance!) on our trip through Yellowstone. Classic place. We stayed in a new wing, but it's still fun to be able to stay in the inn. We stayed up late and watched Old Faithful go off from the patio over the entrance. Fun night. It's spendy,... More

My husband and I booked 3 nights here (the only nights available at the time for our July vacation) over a year in advance. We based our entire 2 week trip out west based out of Denver around the dates we received for this place. I knew it was extremely important to sleep inside of Yellowstone to allow time to... More

There is a history to this place that can't be ignored! The architecture, the people and the sheer magnitude of an amazing building in a true global treasure. No matter how you do Yellowstone, please take the time to stop by and check out the lobby at a minimum. We stayed here (in several rooms) but all rooms with the... More

We considered staying here while planning our trip to Yellowstone. I am very appreciative of other reviewers who steered us away. We got an amazing house in West Yellowstone instead for half the price. We did visit the Inn twice on our visit for drinks while watching Old Faithful do its thing. The Old Faithful Inn has a great deck... More

We stayed here in the middle of winter, when the roads were closed to all but tracked vehicles. It was a bit of an oasis amid the cold. A proper restaurant, warm and well equipped. Old style wooden construction but really only built in about 2009. Right by the geyser.

Heard so much about this place - Old Faithful itself (the geyser) being right beside the Hotel, the History of the place, When and How it was built, Photogenic Sight (being as it is made almost entirely of local materials - wood). Iconic reputation, slap bang in the middle of Yellowstone, surrounded by amazing Hot Springs and geysers etc -... More

The OFI has a breathtaking 6-story loft-type lobby that is a "must-see" when visiting Yellowstone National Park and Old Faithful. The rooms, however, are very basic. We stayed on the ground floor and my kids referred to the accommodations as the "Irish working class rooms on the Titanic." We saw mice running in the hallway. The restaurant was nice and... More

We stayed here for one night out of three nights in the park. There was little available when we booked and were lucky to get a nice standard room in the west wing. The room was adequate size with two queen beds, table and chairs, and a small bathroom. After peeking into rooms as we wandered through the hotel, we... More
