We had great - by Old Faithful Inn standards- rooms at this quirky hotel. We were in the oldest part of the hotel. For us the downsides of shared bathrooms, no wifi, no air conditioning and dreadful food were more than compensated for by the location. We are really glad that we booked ahead and got such great rooms. The... More

Our room was in one of the wings of the hotel, overlooking the Hamilton Store and gas station. While it's worth staying at the inn just to wake up with within walking distance of geysers, I can't say I'd recommend the wing where we stayed. This is the second time we've stayed in this wing. The room the first time... More

Really nice hotel. If you expect to be staying in a room with TV, air conditioning, wi-fi, and cell phone service, you booked your stay in the wrong hotel. The rooms are basic in nature...but you are in Yellowstone to be OUT IN NATURE so stop worrying about your room amenities! (Believe me, it is initially tough to do.) but... More

Location, location, location. It is yards from old faithful with clocks predicting the next eruption everywhere. Largest log cabin in the world. Incredible lobby. No A/C, no tv's, no distractions. Decent restaurant, so-so service. Loved it.

The architecture of this structure is incredible! Old Faithful geyser is just outside your window! Bison roam freely on the grounds! The dining area is magical- everywhere you look you see something you didn't see before.

This historic inn of lodgepole pines in a setting of ancient geologic wonders heightens the sense of a time-traveling experience. Yes, there are the stark realities of crowding, traffic and tight parking, but hassles are always part of the mechanics of travel. Fortunately, the Old Faithful Inn seems to be well-managed and the staff properly trained, with a prevailing effort... More

We were a bit worried that this place would be crowded and noisy, but that was not the case. After the hordes of tourists leave in the late afternoon, the area is quiet. We enjoyed Old Faithful without the crowds as well as walking the geyser basin in the early am and later evening, hiking during the middle of the... More

We stayed here for 2 nights in a room in the main house with a shared bathroom. Our room was cosy with wood paneling and a small sink, but a bit dark for reading without a torch. They had provided dressing gowns too which was a nice touch. Our room was the cheapest option but had a lot of character.... More

Date of stay: 7/1-7/2/2015. Overview: Book your room early and accept no less than a superior room. The difference of $40 gets you a better room and nicer bathroom. The Xanterra web site is extremely cumbersome. You must search each facility separately and re input your dates. It took approximately 45 minutes to book each of our rooms. This location... More

First impression when you walk in the Lobby is Wow, but when you look closer it is all a bit tired. My Room was average, but did have a bathroom. Dining room very big, but then large number of people to cater for. You had to "book a time' to get a meal. Did offer a very good selection of... More
