We stayed two nights in Madison campground and two nights here at Canyon. This was a much better campground. The lots were spaced out much more and you were more in touch with nature. We saw a deer 20 ft from our rv. The location is also very nice being right in the middle of the park.

If you want to camp in the park and want to have the comfort of knowing you have a campsite waiting for you when you arrive to Yellowstone, this is the way to go. There are more secluded places to camp, but many of those don't take advance reservations. That means arriving early and driving around until you see someone... More

Camped here during a rainy spell. No problem (we thought) - just use a tarp. Ha! We pitched the tent and went to dinner. When we returned from dinner, the entire site was under water, including our tent. Would be nice if they could keep track of the low sites and try to not assign them to tenters during rainy... More

This is a nice developed campground for both tents and trailers near Yellowstone Falls in the park. They do allow soft sided trailers here. Good bathrooms with a sink for washing your dishes. A very wooded site with reasonable privacy and fire rings and picnic tables at each site. There are many sites with bear boxes for storing food. The... More

Canyon is the best tent campground, that takes reservations, in the park. There is plenty of shade and level grounds for your tent. The bathrooms and cleaning stations (they have rooms for you to clean your dishes, pots and pans with running water and properly dispose of trash that are bear safe) are just a short walk from any of... We stayed at Canyon for 5 nights. The campsite was extremely wooded and was a quick walk away to flush toilets and running water. We also had a Bear Box on site. It has the best location on the Grand Loop. We were surrounded by "animal opportunities" just north and south of us. We could drive to all of the... More

We stayed here for three nights. There were bathrooms with soap, running water, and flush toilets very close by as well as a dish washing station with sinks and counters. We stayed at the tetons immediately following this and I realized that we'd been lucky to have all these amenities at Canyon. The showers are located near the check-in and... More

We stayed in a tent at Canyon Campground for two nights in Early July. Nice to be in the shade, lots of trees, our site was not completely level but level enough to pitch our tent. Bathrooms were close. No hot water in dish washing room so sorta pointless to have it there. Nice to have showers even thought it... More

There's actually shade in this campground! Very nice area. If you want to get an early start to beat the crowds you've got to stay in the park (this is a HUGE park!). Yes, there's people everywhere and campers on top of eachother, but what did you expect? If you want a more spacious campground you'll be a days drive... More

Stayed at this campground for 4 days with a pop-up camper. It was perfectly located within Yellowstone. The bathrooms were clean and nice to have actual toilets, sinks and cleaning facilities. It was a little crowded. You need to like neighbors, because they are pretty close to you. It was very quiet and clean. The grocery, deli, showers, and fuel... More
