We stayed in 'J' loop in a tent. Yellowstone is very efficient in their campgrounds. We were checked in and given the bear safety spiel. We easily found our location. It was clean and spacious and had a picnic table and metal fire pit with grate. Firewood is available for a reasonable price. Don't bother buying the tinder as you... More

Four of us (two adults and two kids ages 7 & 10) stayed here for four nights recently and were very impressed/satisfied with this campground. The location is ideal in that it is fairly centrally located in the park. The setting itself is outstanding - we were in tent only loop E and were surprised at how quiet and "roomy"... More

We made reservations way in advance (8+months) and requested a site that could accommodate a large, family size tent of 8'X12'. Well, when we got there, the site we had was barely big enough to hold a two person tent, on the side of a hill, mind you. The lady at the registration desk said they were full up and... More

We stayed at three different sites within Yellowstone so I will mention them all here. If you want to see all the park on different days then I recommend you actually move around given that it takes a fair bit of time between the tourist areas despite the distances not seeming that long. The three in order of preference are:... More

The campground is in a great location, allowing you to reach pretty much any point of interest in Yellowstone in a matter of an hour or so. Although it does not have fully private sites like many campgrounds in Alberta, we still got a very nice and large tent-only site in Loop E. While we could see and occasionally hear... More

If you can stay in the park, you can add at least 2 hours for additional exploring each day. This campground is nice, bathrooms are nice (cold water only) and the shower house is fine. Actual camp sites for tents are small; not much room for a tent bigger than 12x12.

Lovely treed sites, nice bathrooms and washrooms. Spacious too with some privacy from neighbors. Hot showers down at the camp store with decent pressure. You have to pay but they're not timed showers. You could walk to Canyon Village from most loops, but we liked to drive from loop H. We had two bars on the cell up there, but... More

This was a nice campground, even though it gets really cold during the night, even in summer. We went to the ranger program, but it starts really late (9.30 pm) and after 45 minutes, it gets reallyyyyy cold. There is no hot water near your campground. The showers are at the entrance of the campground, which was a 5 minute... More

We stayed in the tent-only E loop for four nights in July, and it was great. The site was huge and wooded, and the loop had two bathrooms, so there was never a wait. We were secluded from the RV's and campers but still close enough to walk to the amphitheater for ranger programs. We got two free showers and... More

We always stay here for a few nights. It's in a great north-central area where you can get to the rest of the park easily. The sites are large, tucked into tall lodge pole pines, equipped with fire pits, cooking grates, and picnic tables. The bathrooms are surprising clean and comfortable. They have nice showers and laundry facilities. There are... More
