I tent camped here for several weeks. The sites were large, well treed and more private than most campgrounds in Yellowstone. There is shopping and dinning, if you are so inclined just as short walk away. There are showers and laundry facilities on site. First rate campground.

Canyon village is a nice place to stay when you travel to this incredible wilderness. Close to all sorts of sites and activities, if a bit crowded. One of our favorite sites right next to canyon village, Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone. Don't miss this incredible location, and don't miss the opportunity to take a short hike to the brink... More

It's all about location! Right in the middle of Yellowstone (in the middle of the "8"-loop / grand loop). We stayed in a cabin, which was basic but suited all our needs. Private shower, comfortable bed and easy and free parking. From here you can go to all of the famous sights of Yellowstone: the geysers, hot springs, Lamar valley,... More

I am echoing the other reviews - Canyon Campground is sooooo centrally located in Yellowstone, and we were super able to see exactly what we wanted to without spending 2+ hours in the car... We stayed in Loop B, and i must say that our site was giant, well situated to the bathroom and dishwashing. We could even walk to... More

Canyon Village made a great base camp while exploring the east and north east sections of Yellowstone. From amenities and shopping, to trails and wild life up close...and sometimes too close, this section of the park while catering to most avid naturist is very amenable to almost every age and family type: newlyweds, kids, teenagers, seniors, couples, etc. There is... This was a great place to stay with our kids. We were in a tent only loop for 5 nights. I think it was loop D. It was quiet at night and easy to get to all the places in Yellowstone. You have a lot of bathroom facilities and they are clean. The only drawback is they do NOT have... More

We had chosen to stay in the Canyon area because of its proximity to Hayden Valley and the grand Canyon area. In this, we chose well. But there are trade-offs when staying at a National Park overnight facility - the trade-off is quality. I guess that we humans probably expect 4 star facilities and 5 star service while roughing it... More

This campground was very clean and well organized. The campsites were nicely spaced, and made us feel like we had our own space, even though the campground itself was full. The campground is centrally located, creating easy access to all of the areas of Yellowstone. The campground staff were very pleasant and well organized. My husband and I had a... More

We have just returned from a 4 night stay at a Western cabin, canyon village. I hesitated to write a review as the reality is that year after year this place will be sold out, whether the place is awful or not but here goes...firstly I want to add that I have stayed in 4 other NP properties and am... What can we say, the only redeeming features was the wild life, my husband was confronted by a buffalo when going for some ice, we also saw an elk at the end of our row of cabins. The cabins were primitive, paint peeling off the walls inside the cabin, but it was clean, the water hot and the bed comfortable.
