Slough creek was a 3 night stop off for us on a 3000 mile road trip around middle America. It was so beautiful and peaceful there. Some nice hikes nearby. Dave the camp ranger made our stay. He showed us hikes and drank tea in the mornings with us. Our trip was 2013 but it wont let me backdate that... More

We have been to Slough Creek campground probably 3-4 times. Our favorite spot is site #24 it is secluded and surrounded by trees. You will see many deer roaming the campground at all hours. The creek is an added bonus to help you sleep after a long day of hiking.

This campground is a little north and east of all of the sites, but this is a fantastic spot that is off the main Yellowstone roads. Most camp spots have plenty of shade. Makes for an amazing Yellowstone experience. Don't be surprised if bison jump out in front of your car in this area. You'll be in the heart of... More

A friend and I decided to camp at Slough Creek on a recent trip to Yellowstone. I was skeptical that we would secure a site but we arrived to the campground around 7am on a Friday during peak season and there were two sites available! We settled on site 8 on the in-field. The major downside to this site was... More

I think our family will always remember our stay at this special campground. The campsites are all beautiful and right along a burbling creek. We got to fall asleep to and wake up to that sound every day. Our goal for our Yellowstone trip was to see wildlife, and this campground delivered. We saw deer, a mother bear with two... More

We had never camped before and we took a chance on slough creek as we wanted to be near the wildlife. We had the BEST family holiday ever!! Our eight year old loved it more than Disneyland. We stayed at site #11 and loved how we backed onto the creek. It was so peaceful and quiet. The vault toilets were... More

I had heard from former reviews to get to this campground early, but when i talked to a ranger the day before we were to head there, he said it wasn't full until 1pm the day before. I guess that must have been when the campground host reported, because we showed up at 10 am the next day and it... More

My husband and I stayed here for four nights in June 2013, and we were lucky enough to have Site 3, right along the creek. I had read in online reviews that Slough Creek is a great campground, but we had never stayed here before. We had camped in the Canyon area of the park previously, which is very large,... More

We just finished a 2 1/2 week stay at Slough Creek Campground. Words and pictures cannot do justice to this place! It is small and "rustic" with only vault toilets for "facilities", but the vault toilets are clean and except for perhaps 2 times when we used the toilets, they were odorless. We had site #1 which is a large... More

It's hard for tent campers to find a place in Yellowstone that isn't overrun with RVs. That's the main reason why Slough Creek is my favorite camp in the park. We stayed there three nights in early September, and 80 percent of the campers were fellow tenters. The best sites for tenters are "walk-in" designated and along the creek (sites... More
