We were happily surprised at the beauty of this area, a place we'd driven past before but never stopped to stay. The cabins are of two types: those with ensuite baths and those without. Also, some have wood stoves and others have electric heaters, both advantageous in their own way. We had an ensuite cabin with electric heater, which enabled... More

I have to admit I was a little nervous about this accommodation. We had spent the previous 6 nights in a Western Cabin, 3 at Old Faithful Snow Lodge and 3 at the Canyon Lodge and this one seemed to be the most rustic. However, this actually turned out to be our favourite cabin of the park. First of all,... More

Basic cabin- comfortable bed, table and chair, wood burning stove. Shared facilities, clean, hot shower, but a bit of a walk in the dark when it is raining. Great atmosphere, loved sitting on the porch at the lodge with a glass of wine, soaking up the view of the mountain in front, disturbed only by the arrival of some deer... More

The cabin was lovely. Unfortunately we didn't realise "shared bathroom" meant a shower/toilet block share by lots and lots of cabins. (At the time we had no choice because the cabins with a private bathroom were fully booked) So really it was like camping but in a cabin but not priced like camping. No torches in the cabins and it... More

Can't be beat for the price! The cabin is basic. The shared bath is very clean works just fine. I had my reservations about the shared bath. What is wonderful about the lodge is the big porch with rocking chairs. After hiking all day sipping a beverage while waiting for dinner was very nice. The staff here always smiled! We... More

Roosevelt Lodge was by far the most pleasant stay that I had while in Yellowstone. It was very quiet, primitive, beautiful, and cozy. The history of the lodge was awesome. The cabin that I stayed in was very nicely layed out. I went with the bathroom in the cabin and it was very nice and clean. This is a wonderful... More

Stayed in a Rough Rider cabin for one night with a shared bathroom. The cabin is really basic and has two very small queen size beds and a wood fired heater. The amenities were spotless and toiletries are provided. There are some power points in the cabin, no wifi. The lodge next door serves a great dinner.

Very cute little cabins. Had one with a woodstove ... Very cozy. Check out the Western cookout to. We went on the chuckwagon ride to the cookout and dinner was fabulous. Sang western songs around the campfire. Wonderful atmostphere.

We had one with a private bath and it was very comfortable. The bed was comfortable and the bath was clean. The driveway is a small hill and gravel, but packed and not too bad for motorcycles. Deer will roam around your doorstep. We really appreciated the early check-in as we were scheduled to do the chuck-wagon dinner and DID... More

I find the cabins without bath to be generally the best lodging deals in Yellowstone. I guess the gov't makes them charge a lot less for them. But, at Roosevelt, I prefer the cabins WITH bath because they also come with an electric heater. The cabins without bath come with only wood-burning stoves, which are very hard to regulate (you're...
