After reading OhioHick's 2011 trip report, I added two nights at the Roosevelt area to my plans for visiting Yellowstone. That turned out to be a great decision. We enjoyed a two-night stay in a frontier cabin (#77). The standalone cabins are cute, comfortable, and functional. Two double beds are comfortable enough for a good sleep. The old fashion sink... This is a great place to stay. The cabins are very fun and the set up is great with the wood stove. My only complaint is that we were given a 6 person room for just 2 people and it was very hard to keep it warm with the tiny wood stove. I'd recommend making sure you get the smallest... More

We stayed here Sep 2013 for a 5-day/4-night program hosted by the Yellowstone Association. Cabins are basic. Shower facilities are nearby. Bring flashlight to avoid surprises. Stove heat kept us warm enough; we brought blankets as suggested by YA. Rendezvous program was great. Too much good food, variety of program options each day, evening talks/presentations, dedicated staff and volunteers. Highly... More

We stayed one night in a Roosevelt Roughrider Cabin. It was small, but very cozy. The wood burning stove was plenty of heat for a chilly night. Only bad thing was having to get up to put more wood in the stove during the night. Bathrooms are located nearby and were clean. Had shampoo, conditioner, and soap in each shower.... More

We're city people and we're not used to camping, so we were concerned about staying in a cabin with shared bath and shower. After staying there, I have no reservations staying there again. The bathroom and shower with warm water were clean and nearby. The cabin were well furnished and had everything one find in a hotel room except for... More

If you want to get away from the crowds, feel closer to the wildlife and scenery but don't want to rough it too much the Frontier Cabins at Roosevelt are perfect. They are hard to come by, so book early, as the majority of cabins here are the rough rider type without a private bath. Frontier Cabins are probably best... More

Oh my gosh was this fun. We went by covered wagon, drawn by horses out into the plains to have a cowboy cook out. They cooked rib eye steaks, beans, corn, potato salad, slaw, watermelon, corn muffins, and peach cobbler, with lemonade, ice tea, pop, campfire with coffee, cowboy singer and storytelling. This was an excellent tour. I highly recommend it.

I stayed in one of the roughrider cabins for 3 nights on a recent trip to yellowstone. Let me first say that I am not a camper. So the lack of a bathroom in the cabin was a challenge. I loved how quaint it was w/ the wood stove. It got quite warm in there w/ the pellet stove but... More

We love the Roosevelt area and these cabins. Our cabin was nice size with to queen beds. There is a little stream near, where we all put our feet in the water and relax. Lamar Valley has lots of Bison and Prong Horn Deer and is close. We love "The Cowboy Cookout". They have a Horse ride or Wagon ride... More

We thought this was a great little cabin. Comfortable beds, great location, clean. Walk to bathroom wasn't to far. We liked this over the cabins at canyon even though they had a bathroom. My wife had a mouse try to snuggle under the covers in the middle of the night. Hopefully the scream didn't wake anyone. We brought back leftovers... More
