It was my husband and I's first time camping in Wyoming and it was a great experience. The campground was pretty basic but the people were friendly and the places were clean. I only wish they had showers on site. It's located about 20 min from west yellowstone, MT, and 30 min from old faithful.

Not a campground I would stay at again. The river was beautiful but the bear boxes were tiny and far away from our site and you had to share with other campers. You couldn't leave any cooking stuff out at all. So everyday we had to pack up our camp into our car before we left.

We booked our stay in Mid-July on line. So glad we did! Check in went smoothly-paid to arrive shortly before noon when the morning crowd was gone and the afternoon folks weren't piling in yet. We set up camp and then decided to go check out Old Faithful area. This was a far west campground, yet it still seemed quite... More

We stayed at Grant, Canyon and Madison and enjoyed Madison the most. It doesn't have showers, but we drove to Mammoth Hot Springs (to see the terraces and do a hike) and asked at the reception of the hotel if we could take a shower. We could shower there for free. There was nobody, it was really clean and lots... More

We stayed for 5 nights with a group in 4 tent sites with 21 people. The reservation process was good and we arrived at 1:00 PM and still got 4 sites together in Loop G. Madison is a great jumping off point but beware that a single cow elk on the road to Old Faithful will cause at least an... More

Excellent place to camp, but no cell phone service (pay phones are available) and no showers. Measure your rig carefully and err on the larger side - you may not fit otherwise! Campsites were wooded, so afforded some privacy from other campsites. Very quiet.

We stayed in the G section of the campground. Perfectly located near two bathrooms and water spigot. Stayed four nights and used as base camp to visit the whole park. Restrooms were clean. No showers in campground but we knew that ahead of time.....it's camping after all. Can buy firewood at check in office but we found it cheaper in... More

Excellent camping, although there are no showers. Other than that is an excellent base camp for visiting Yellowstone. In peak season it can get fully booked so online reservation is recommended before you arrive.

We were very happy to get last minute reservations at this Yellowstone campground for our small tent. When we arrived there was a short line to check in around 6:30, but it wasn't too bad. It take a few minutes because they have to go through all of the campsite rules with each person, especially all of the bear rules,... More

Arrived after a long day in Geyser Basin, and sat in a check in line of 4 people for over 45 minutes. SEVERELY slow and totally unacceptable!! Several reservations ahead of use were either being changed or had mistakes. Staff was friendly but unapologetic about the wait. We arrived at our tent site (loop G) to find that it was... More
