Pros: Madison Junction is near the junction of three rivers- great for views and enjoying the river. Campground facilities were clean and well maintained. Employees were very friendly and helpful. Online reservations made it easy and the price is competitive for campgrounds. Cons: We camped in the tents-only area. Though it seemed like the location was in a forest, there... More

Smallish tent sites, but private because it's fairly wooded. No showers, but the bathroom and dish washing facilities are well maintained. Wood is less expensive elsewhere in the park, and you'll probably need to buy some since there is very little downed wood to burn. We'd stay again.

We were impressed by our Yellowstone campground employee. He was cheerful, helpful, and, well, gracious. The campground was spacious - though being "bear aware" makes you very careful not to leave any debris or extras lying around. Yellowstone itself is breathtaking. A fantastic visit!

We didn't spend much time at the campground so it is a little hard to judge. But there is no water hookup and after the first night our battery died too. The slots are 10 feet away from each other and all on pavement. And they are way into being Bear Aware.

The biggest let down is that most of the campsites do not have showers. To shower we had to go to canyon, Old faithful Inn, or Grant. Old faithful in was 3.50 a person to shower there, more if you didn't bring your own towel. But the bathrooms/showers were clean and very fancy. We stayed in campground G. You can... More

I highly recommend this campsite to anyone tent camping in Yellowstone! The location in the park near the west entrance is supreme! Staff was excellent. Bathrooms were spotless and well kept. Campsite was clean and all campsites seemed to be very near a restroom. A fabulous site for around $20!

This was the only spot left in Yellowstone when I called for reservations. We got a nice spot with only Tent campers around us. We like that a lot. However, those spots are REALLY close. We were literally 20 feet from another tent (with two little girls in it who didn't want to go to sleep) That's my only complaint.... More

This campground would only be mediocre in my mind if it weren't bordered by the beautifully sparkling Madison River and if it weren't in one of the most beautiful parks in the world. It's a perfectly situated spot in Yellowstone, about 30-60 minutes away from all major Yellowstone areas. The campsites are quite exposed and nothing special at all. Beware... More

We reserved 5 spots at this campground for our July stay back in January. We requested to be near each other, and that request was granted. We love this location for its beauty and the lovely Madison river that flows along the campground. It's especially beautiful at dawn and dusk. The restrooms are well maintained, but there are no showers,... More

We spent three days in Madison Campground and it was our first three days in the park. This campground isn't near stores. wifi, gift shops, visitor centers or anything like that. It is near the Firehole Canyon (with it's great swimming hole). We were in F loop. The only problem with the campground is that a lot of the sites... More
