Tom and Kim are a hard working couple trying to rebuild after a fire a few years ago. Tom sat with us and talked to us like we were long time friends. The food was good. Accommodations were neat and clean. Bar and restaurant were excellent. It's not the Hilton, but this is rural Alaska, I wasn't expecting nor wanting... More

Great supper in this neatly restored original place. Staff were attentive, friendly, and professional in a laid back atmosphere. Interesting menu. Everybody enjoyed their orders. Nice visit to an historically interesting place.

We stayed here for one night. The lodge burned 3 years ago and has not been re-built but the "temporary" rooms were quite nice. We thoroughly enjoyed the family of owners. The restaurant was closed the night we were there but they recommended another restaurant that was very good.

This inn has been in the family since 1948 and has a friendly bar and restaurant that invites conversation with other diners. We loved the people we met here and learned so much about the Alaskan way of life. The bed was comfortable and the room clean. Other highlights were the sourdough pancakes make with a sourdough starter I was... More

This place offers a beautiful view of the mountains however; there are a couple things I felt should be changed. Before I go on, know that if a person is coming to stay at your establishment for over a week, you should be open for them...Once you find this place it is hard to identify where exactly you are supposed... The building (all of it - lodge, restaurant, etc) burned down in May, 2012. THe local "scoop" is that it was due to an electrical fire that may have started in the laundry room. The complex is currently being rebuilt but as of October, 2012, that only went so far as the slab and plywood walls. Call ahead before summer... More

The first thing you will notice is that the sign on the front states, "Copper Center Roadhouse" and not Copper Center Lodge, so you might miss the place. The restaurant was the best feature. It does not have an extensive menu but the dinner and breakfast were very good. The waitresses and the front desk clerks were friendly. Although we... More

Service begrudging, room cramped, noisy. Not worth a third of the price.

The lodge was LOUD! Dirty! and dysfunctional! The front desk secretary was confused about our (internet-confirmed) reservations and had to call her mother over (wine-glass in-hand) to figure it out. I noticed 4 dogs roving about the place and was amused, since I LOVE dogs! I have 2 of my own and yes, they occasionally have "accidents" HOWEVER!!!...the first thing... More
