First I want to say that the hostess was very nice. The proprietor was on vacation but this lady did a nice job of making us feel welcome. The room we had was spacious, nicely furnished, and clean. The food was a disappointment. The cookies set out were stale and dry. The breakfast was unremarkable; a cup of plain blueberries... More

I take full responsibility for the unfortunate experience this guest had at The Maxwell House. I did not train my inn-sitter sufficiently and I thank him for the heads up. I am grateful he gave his name as I intend to be in touch with him and offer him a free stay so I can prove his experience was not... More

We truely enjoyed our 2 night stay in this wonderful bed and breakfast. The accomodations were comfortable and cozy. The B&B was easy to get to and served as an excellent home base location for our wine tasting excursions! The staff was wonderful and the breakfasts were amazing!

Chose this B&B for a short weekend getaway, the pictures don't do it justice! This place was spectacular, beautiful and ever so charming. Penny is just simply the best innkeeper we've ever met, we've stayed at many B&Bs and she is by far the best. Within walking distance of downtown, lots of great shopping, food and wine. Will be staying... More

Last Summer on our drive back from Yellowstone, we stopped in Walla Walla, Washington to visit some of the wineries. As we had not made any reservations for an overnight stay, we looked at the internet in a local Starbucks and found a room available at the Maxwell House. Penny greeted us and made us very welcome in the beautiful,... More

Everything was wonderful. Penny sent us directions to the charming b&b Maxwell House. She made us right at home and made us feel so comfortable. The house is lovely and our room was great. There was a lovely garden behind the house and several areas to sit (we had wine). Penny fixes a tasty breakfast and was always helpful in... More

We recently visited Walla Walla and stayed at the Maxwell House in the Ravishing Rose room with Innkeeper, Penny. Absolutely fabulous! This craftsman house was built in 1904 and Penny has made it perfect with her furnishings and gardens. Penny knew the area well and had maps and tourist info available. She supplied us with bikes to ride around, made... More

My husband and I had a very nice stay at the Maxwell House Bed and Breakfast. Our room was lovely--comfortable and well appointed. The house itself was extremely well located (about a two minute walk from Whitman College and 10 minute walk from downtown) and offered all of the amenities we could have wanted (parking, places to sit outdoors). Breakfast... More

For a two-night stay, our party six enjoyed the excellent accommodations, the splendid breakfast, the freshly baked cookies and the service and pleasant company of Penny, the owner and hostess. Maxwell House occupies a spot very near Whitman College in one of Walla Walla's three fine historic neighborhoods, within walking distance of a fine historic park. It would be hard... More

Penny is the consummate hostess. Her breakfasts are the best we have had at any B and B. The house is beautiful and comfortable. The house is perfectly located close to the college and downtown. it's also very easy to get to all the wineries, which is what we enjoyed during our stay.

Our eight wine group members took over The Maxwell House for a weekend of biking, shopping, eating, walking and wine tasting. Penny is truly a gem of a hostess!! We were greeted with freshly baked cookies and, after a tour, received the "keys to the kingdom." Literally! As the first to arrive, my friend and I were given the key... More
