This review is of the hotel, not the restaurant/bar which I am reviewing separately. We stayed in the 'newer wing' attached to the rear of the hotel (4 floors) where many of the rooms are. The negatives with the room were as follows: 1) Bathroom is very small - there is almost no room to turn around (and no easy... More

This impressive building really stands out on the Walla Walla skyline as you approach from the west. The lobby and front desk (in the original part of the hotel) are amazing, a real flavour of the past. We didn't really get much of a feel for the old hotel, outside of the lobby and restaurant area. Check-in process was efficient... More

We stayed at the Hotel August 22. We arrived without a room and were offered one of their suites in the old part of the hotel. Truly spectacular! The room was great and all of the staff were top notch. We had dinner at the hotel restaurant and it was superb! A great spot to stay and eat!

We stayed at the Marcus Whitman while on the tail-end of a trip in Idaho. Having spent over a week in a rustic cabin on the Salmon River, the well-appointed hotel was a lovely change. Our King room was quite large and was appropriately outfitted with coffee and a convenient refrigerator. Since they're in a wine region, the fridge likely... More

My husband and I love old hotels that maintain the ambiance of years gone by, but still provide today's services. The Marcus Whitman does! Stay in the tower, vs. the newer addition. The rooms are spacious, the amenities very nice. The location is great for walking around the downtown area. If I'm coming to Walla Walla, I'm stayingk here!

We travel with 2 dogs and it is difficult to stay at nice hotels because many nice hotels are not dog friendly. The room was older but very comfortable and large. It was also immaculate. The staff is very knowledgeable on all the wineries in the area and the breakfast was unbelievably delicious. Big thumbs up.

My husband and I were on a 4 week wine tasting trip from Portland, OR to Seattle, WA, via WallaWalla and Yakima. Since WallaWalla was mid-way through our trip, we decided to splurge on a junior suite (room 7007) in the old tower at the Marcus Whitman. What a delight! The MW is a well-preserved hotel from the late 1930s,... More

We stayed at the MW on a multi-day trip from Idaho to California, as there was a winery in Walla Walla hat we wanted to visit. We stayed in the historic portion of the hotel, and the rooms were spacious and well appointed. I particularly liked the fact that the soap/shampoo etc. (what I like to jokingly refer to as... More

My first visit was so wonderful that I did not think that it could happen again! I was very pleased that it was just as wonderful. From the time I checked in and my departure the staff was very helpful and professional. I tell everyone that Walla Wall is the place to visit and stay at the Marcus Whitman! Special... More

I've stayed at the MW twice. The first time (2013) was good enough to make me come back AND plan a large event for a Fortune 500 company. Well, that will be the very last time. The staff was difficult to work with. We were accused of stealing a vase and asked to pay for it. We were missing food... More
