Two desk clerk young men were at the front desk to greet guests, however, both could have been more friendly and helpful; more interested in their duties. In town for a quick visit to Whitman College which was within walking distance (less than a mile). The room was basic but very clean and everything worked. Basic exercise room, but a nice option. Stayed here for the 2nd time over Txgiving 2011. Room was basic, seemed clean but definitely needs some maintenance/updating. Cons - Bathroom shower rod bent, so shower curtain didn't stay in place = floor got soaked. Mold along edge of bath surround. Toilet paper holder broken = kept coming out of wall. Booked this on priceline. The room was comfortable, much what I would expect for the price. Impressive was the front desk. I asked if he knew any local bicycle routes...he did, but maybe I would prefer a local cycling map? He proceeded to give me a map with most excellent routes.
