Great trip to the island, the room was huge would sleep 6. Just my wife and i. Great food at the restaurant and beautiful lakeside view. International falls isn't the Ritz it's the voyager parks. Great views just to get away from the city and catch fish and some rays. 79° and sunny. Could not ask for a better experience.

Island View Lodge is more of a destination resort than the typical hotel/restaurant/bar. Located very near the end of MN highway 11 about 8 miles East of International Falls, Island View Lodge has cabins and hotel type rooms located adjacent to their boat ramp, docks, restaurant, and bar. During my recent three day four night stay I rented a hotel... More

I stayed here in August 2014 for the second time in a few years. I knew not to expect much, I was not disappointed in my expectations. Location: The view from the lodges/deck are great. This is the best part of the lodge. Price: For the area the price charged is reasonable. For what you get in return I was... More

I was born and raised in International Falls and over the span of my life, I must get to Island View every year or two, at least. This place hasn't changed since the late 60s. The good things about it is the view and the restaurant and bar are pretty fair. But don't stay here, as all of the reviewers... More

This place is a dump. Torn curtains and sheets. Dingy bedspreads and carpet. Smelly. Worn out mattresses on particle board. Had to stand alongside the toilet to close the bathroom door. No soap or shampoo (ultimately did get soap by asking at front desk). $130+/night w/tax. Have stayed in better hotels in rural Malaysia and India. Best to go to... More

I've spent a fair amount of the last 8 years in 3rd world countries. Island View Lodge made me feel like I was back in the jungle in a $20-per-night hovel. Unfortunately, I was paying $110 a night! Ugly rooms with broken bathroom floor tile (we had to put a towel down to walk on the floor for fear of... More

The friend I was visiting who lives on Rainy Lake suggested lunch at this resort which is like stepping back into the past. The dining room furniture is retro bamboo most likely from when the resort opened. The food included the famous walleye made into a sandwich and my friend had the portobello which she raved over and always orders.... More

Just returned from a week stay at the Island View (three couples). We had a cabin with a breathtaking view of Rainy Lake. Absolutely beautiful spot- It pains me to not be able to rate this property higher! The inside of the cabin was in dire need of some TLC. The first thing we noticed when we walked in was... More

My family has been taking yearly fishing trips in the Ontario area since before I can remember. This summer we decided to stay in Minnesota, and fish Rainy lake. We were pretty sold once seeing Island View's website. Unfortunately, once we arrived, we realized that it was all false advertisement. Upon arrival, we were greeted by Ron. He proceeded to... More
