We stayed here one night when traveling from Florida back home to Texas. We didn't really know what to expect - it was our first time in Vicksburg, first time in Mississippi, and first time at a B&B! Even though we weren't there very long, we really enjoyed our stay. We stayed in the annex - they have one room... More

We stayed at Anchuca one night when visiting the National Military Park in Vicksburg. The location is ideal – very close to the Park, and walkable to the courthouse museum. It’s a nice, quiet neighborhood with cobblestone streets, but the real draw is the house itself. Antebellum finery, historical significance, a patio under the moonlit magnolias, and you’ll have it... It was great fun to stay in this historic inn right in the middle of Vicksburg. We had hoped for more of a view of the Mississippi but it was well worth the trade-off to stay here rather than a casino hotel! Room 7 in the Carriage House row was charming and comfortable. Breakfast was great, including cheese grits daily.... More

My husband and I stayed at Achuca and we had a great experience. The staff was so nice and they treated us very well. We went to stay a night the night after we got married. The food is great and they have a very nice selection of wines and champagnes. We stayed in the carriage house in jennies room.... More

Just left lovely Anachuca. What a fantastic 3 night stay we had there! Such true southern hospitality, exceptionally friendly and caring staff, especially Lisa. The grounds, restaurant, main house, as well as carriage house, were all very beautiful, well maintained and cared for. We stayed in room no. 9 in the carriage house, since it was pet friendly. Perfect room... More

10, I give this historic mansion. The host greeted me with enormous hospitality. And, the staff, amazing. I stayed in Room 10, I just didn't want to leave this room. The windows were lushly draped and the canopy bed was dreamy. The plush pillows and comfy bed gave me the best rest of my trip (stayed in a few other... More

We made a last minute decision to cancel another hotel in order to experience a stay in the No1 spot in Vicksburg and a mansion house. I know many will disagree with my rating but this is honestly what we felt about the place. We stayed in the Carriage House in Ellen's Room. It was a lovely room, not particularly... More

We recently stayed at Anchuca as we continued our bicycle ride down the Natchez Trace. We combined a bike ride with the Civil War tour. Anchuca was a terrific choice. It is a fine example of a antebellum building with a fine restaurant. The staff is particularly helpful and the food was excellent with a nice wine list at reasonable... More

I stayed at Anchuca in September 14-16 2014. Cannot say anything bad about this place, the house itself is beautiful, the staff are very nice and the food in the restaurant, Cafe Anchuca was delicious, so nice in fact I bought their cookbook to take home with me. I just hope I can find the ingredients for my favourite dishes... More

Exactly as described on the website, you stay in a piece of history. We were warned at check in that as it had been raining, the doors swell and we would have to push hard. The internal doors were all at crazy angles as well. We chose a room in the main building, with I suspect still some original features.... More
