I recently returned from my trip to Oahu and plan on returning DEC 09 to the same hotel simply because I know the treatment received at the Lotus is by far the best in the town. From its nice lobby to its great sized rooms The Lotus takes the cake for its elegance. It use to be a W, so... more

Smaller Hotel in a great location. Park across the street. Ocean a few feet away. No beach at the hotel but only a few minute walk to the waikiki beach. Great view of Diamond Head, park, and the ocean. more

My Husband and I travel to las Vegas and Florida quite a bit but we live in Hawaii. We wanted an Overnighter to get away from Phone calls- and the neighborhood lawn mowers and leaf blowers for a week end night. We did not want to spend $300. on a hotel room and we did not want to stay in... more

I was a frequent visitor to the W Diamond Head, staying at least once per year from 2000 to 2008. In early January 2009, Starwood ceased to manage this hotel and was replaced by Castle Resorts. The hotel was renamed The Lotus at Diamond Head. I decided to stay at the Lotus during my last trip to Oahu in April,... more

The Lotus at Diamond Head is only slightly off the beaten path. It is on the main drag of Waikikki, however on a quieter end closer to Diamond Head if you look at the picture. We found it to be quiet and clean. From our balcony we had an excellent close upview of Diamond Head and partial ocean view. It... more

The W Hotel (which from reading the more recent reviews has changed to The Lotus) was a great place to stay during my first trip to Hawaii. It wasn't a great first impression because It is difficult to find. Not to mention that we arrived at 11 am on Friday night when the club on the 2nd floor of the... more

Pros: At bit outside of tacky/ugly Waikiki, but nice to walk into Waikiki for dinner; Clean, quiet, nicely and uniquely decorated rooms (not generic like Hyatt, Marriott, etc), Helpful and friendly staff. Cons: Internet didn't work, so sadly had to change hotels (went to Hyatt). more

I am so glad that I did not take the advice of some in this forum. If you are looking for a typical hotel in the middle of tourist central, then this is not the place for you. My wife and I celebrated our 25th anniversary and words would fail to express how well we were treated. While the rooms... more

The Lotus is a small boutique hotel located close to downtown in a small cluster of upscale hotels and condos. bordered by the beach on one side and a lovely park and zoo on the other. One of the finest restaraunts in Hawaii and our favorite place to dine , Michelles is right next door. Our favorite place for breakfast... more

It is good to be out of Waikiki, but there are not enough reasons to stay at the Lotus. I got one of the #22 rooms right opposite the lift and the service door, pretty noisy. I also got a note in the room that the hotel had decided to not do room service any more, no mini fridge full... more
