First morning while in bathroom, saw one roach in the shower and a bug walked across the floor. Husband discovered additional bugs during the night. Killed the bugs, called front desk and they came and sprayed but did not vacuum, bugs still on the floor the next day. Did not unpack and made sure the luggage was zipped when not... more

come back in honolulu, it was the best rate ( $60) and you are in center of town. Plus the best rate for parking ( $15) when you have a renting car. Great class desk when arriving but rooms are more classic but correct. Town view and not Ocean ( not the value, you are too far... don't spend more... more

We enjoyed our stay at the Gateway Waikiki. It is centrally located with spacious and clean rooms, and had a very friendly and helpful staff. We particularly liked the fact that you're able to use their business center (free internet) and hospitality room (couch, chairs, shower, TV) while you're waiting for your room and after you check out. We went... more

Here’s your qualifier so you might actually believe that I know what I’m talking about. I organize trips for high school and college/university sports teams and have stayed in a number of lower or ‘price friendly’ hotels (and motels) in Waikiki. I have been to O’ahu six times from Dec 1999 to Dec 2008 – and am going back Dec... more

The staff are good, the location great. However although the public entry areas are new the 80s era brown carpets, the hard beds , wafer pilows and worlds ugliest small refrigerators (wood vinyl covered) all need replacing. It also has one of Honolulu's ugliest pool areas although apart from plants there isnt much they can do to fix that. Still... more

Stayed here from 8/28/09-9/4/09...here are opinions: Breakfast Continental: They only served dried toast and toasted bagel, I wish they had more options. Never went back... Front Desk Service: Everyone was courteous accept one guy... Room/Bathroom: Comfy, A/C worked well, tub was clogged and had to get service done. Valet: I guess one of the valet attendants was upset that he... more

Stayed here August 15 -19th. For the cost this is a great hotel within easy walking distnce of all of Waikiki beaches and shopping. A 5+ minutes walk over the "Fort" park right to the beach. We were on the 12th floor and room was good for the money. A/C worked very good. If you want a good quality Hotel... more

We booked this last minute trip to Oahu for the weekend (we are kama`aina from Kauai) and did some research on the internet prior to booking. For the amount of money spent, I was very happy with the property and will definitely come back. Checking in was easy and the amenities were great. My mother made use of the continental... more

Aloha Leiolalani, Thank you for your kind words. We're glad to hear that you appreciated the "overall value" our hotel offers. As for the parking, please know that the valet system is a good one; it keeps the parking garage organized and promotes "flow." I know it's hard to believe, but on numerous occasions when it was self-parking, people would...

My daughter and I recently spent 2 nights at the Waikiki Gateway on our way to Maui. The room was very nice with 2 lanais, 1 of which overlooked a park and the ocean. It was clean, had a small fridge and was great value for the price. The included continental breakfast was adequate to start the day. The 4th floor... more

My family of nine stayed in three rooms (w/kitchenettes) for seven nights. The room was comfortable and clean, the service was good. We had valet parking for two cars for half price and free Internet as a part of a special kitchenette offer. The elevators worked (they didn't at another hotel we stayed in last December. Room rates seemed fair.... more
