Stayed for 4 nights with 2 friends. Great location! Walking distance to the main Waikiki attractions. Room was basic, but clean and a nice night time view from the balcony of the city lights. Staff are super friendly! Pool is simple- wouldn't spend long there but good for a refreshing dip and a bit of sun. Only a 5min walk... More

Pros: 1. Low resort fee Most hotels in Waikiki charge a resort fee of $20+ per night, whilst the Gateway only charges $10 per night and includes, high speed WiFi and two bottles of water per day, which you can collect from reception. 2. Friendly staff I arrived two hours before check in, to store my luggage (which is free)... More

The pictures are all lies of course, once you get there u wonder about the pictures you see the lobby looks new to fool you. the rooms that are remodeled "upgrade" cost $50 more per night. First room fourth floor horrible bath and room. Asked to change rooms moved me to floor 11 same as floor 4, tub and shower... More

I stayed here overnight enroute to the island hopper to Guam. The price was a steal for Honolulu, which is an expensive city. I booked through Hotel Tonight before my flight that day. The property was fine, without any major problems. The biggest problem was mostly the location: it was close to shops and some restaurants, but still quite a... More

Stayed here for two nights after arriving in Honolulu. Hotel is fine, wouldn't not recommend it. Location is good and the staff are generally friendly. Rooms are a bit dated and you have to pay an extra $10 a night for wifi and coffee even if you don't use it. I paid this for both nights but they only marked... More

After reading some reviews on TripAdvisor, I almost canceled our reservations, but the penalties we would have incurred were too steep to change the reservation. Plus side: it is undergoing renovations and the staff and lobby at OK. Valet parking was a big plus. Nice beach towels, ten minute walk to the beach, bottled water and fresh fruit available at... The reception was very, very friendly and nice. Our room was basic, offered everything we needed, but had some drawbacks: It was to the street side and somewhat noisy at night (cars, deliveries in the morning). Bathroom tube was in desperate need for renovation. The walk to Waikiki Beach is 10 min. We booked this room as we got an... More

We booked a room with a Kitchenette so we could have breakfast and coffee each morning and dinners most evenings. The hotel is older but kept nice and clean with hard wood floors which made for a nice look. The room had 2 lanai's and was about 2 blocks from the beach with a nice walk through the park across... Although it is close to everything downtown Waikiki, I would avoid this dated hotel. Lobby is nice, people are nice, however the hallways/rooms are horrible! I flew in from Alaska, yes, almost a 6hr fight. I was tired and simply didn't care. Otherwise, I would have demanded a refund and left! I stayed one night. The bathroom is disgusting! Peeling...
