This is our second year staying at the Gateway, we stay because the rate is low and the location is good. The beds are comfy, the TV is a flat panel. The draperies, carpet, walls, and bathroom are all dated, and need updating but the staff is great.

Gateway was a decent hotel for the price I payed. The housekeeper came on request and they were always courteous. The only thing that was upsetting was when I requested a later check out. I called a few weeks before my trip to secure the possibility of checking out at 2, instead of 11 (just 3hrs later). The receptionist said... More

We were warmly welcomed by the front desk staff. Every staff member we passed gave greeted us kindly. The room was noticeably worn. The bathroom was kind of run down. The shower wall had nicks and scratches... the toilet didn't work at one point (they fixed it right away). There was a note pad on the stand next to the... More

we spent our first three days on Hawaii in this hotel. The room was big and spacious but old and a bit run down (torn curtains, very old awful bathroom). It was ok for our three days, but definitely not for more! Breakfast in the hotel is very good and staff is very friendly and helpful!

Stayed for 3 nights, found the hotel conveniently located for public transport (bus at the front door) and ten minutes walk from Waikiki beach. A Ten Dollar per day service fee applies which covers wifi, local calls etc. Bed was comfortable. We stayed in winter, not sure how effective the window mount air conditioner would be in summer conditions. The... More

HOTEL STAFF STOLE ALL MY JEWELRY FROM MY HOTEL ROOM. My boyfriend and I swapped rooms and in doing so I forgot my jewelry in the bathroom. I called down to the front desk to see if anyone had checked into that room. The front staff told me, themselves, that no one had checked in and the only people in... More

I stayed in this hotel in October 2013. Good choice for the prices in waikiki. Payed 90$ and got lucky to be placed in a corner room with a massive balcony which was the highlight of our stay. No breakfast included. The staff kept us waiting for long when we arrived without giving us a word about it which was... More

Visiting from the neighbor islands, even if its just for the weekend usually sports related, this is our "go-to" hotel. So convenient and reasonably priced. Reservations, front desk, and valet staff are always very friendly. The rooms are decent, nothing fancy, but we enjoy our stay every time. Noticed the joint rooms that are available had some renovations that were... More

We stayed here one night in Jan 2015. The hotel is clean and comfortable, but quite old and a little run down/shabby. The pool is tiny, tiny and on the 4th floor (and no whirlpool). While not on (or near) the beach, it's walkable to many of the places you'd want to see in Waikiki. So, you're not going to... More

We have had three individual bookings at this hotel and will gladly recommend it to others that are looking for a centrally located hotel, with basic amenities, close to shopping and great beach (Fort de Russy and Waikiki) and restaurants. There are some differences about when the rooms where rehabilitated the last time, but our experience is that you get... More
