I must preface this review with the fact I have stayed at this property many times over the last 20 years. It is an older property and it appears it is always in a perpetual state of renovation. Waikiki Gateway hotel is a value priced property, don't expect the Surf Rider or the Sheraton. But if you want a basic... More

From the moment we arrived at 9am the staff went above and beyond to make our stay wonderful. They did their best to get us the room earlier and when we opened the door, we were in awe of the gorgeous view and the huge deck! I just wished we stayed more nights so that we could have more time... More

We stayed here recently for 5 nights. After reading the reviews on here I nearly changed our accommodation but a relative was in Hawaii and checked it out before we arrived which was great and said it was lovely. I was VERY impressed! I had nothing to worry about at all. We were in room 1602, on the 16th floor... More

This comfortable hotel is in a great location. It is a few minutes away from the beach, great restaurants and stores, and a fun nightlife. ABC store is in the hotel. The staff is very helpful and friendly.

Stayed a week at Gateway Waikiki, had a great holiday. The staff were always friendly, rooms comfortable, and easy access to shops and buses. 10 minute walk to beach through park with coconut palms. The staff did everything they could to make our holiday memorable. We booked a general room, and got room 1602, lovely view of the park and... More

To be honest I was going to rate 1 star at first as the hardware is old enough in terms of facilities. However I'm very satisfied by the time I step out of this hotel because of the staffs. I approached front desk late in evening asking for next day tour arrangement, all staffs including assistant manager David Kim and... More

The hotel is a little outdated, but clean, beds were very comfortable. For the price this hotel was great for a 3 nite stay just two blocks from the beach, accross the street standard breakfast was only $5.99 or $6.89 depending on which one you went to. When on vacation we are not in the room very long only to... More

We stayed one night and it was just OK. If remodelled the hotel could be very good, the lobby and front desk area are nice but as you make your way up to your room, the look changes and you can tell the the place has seen better days. Old ugly carpets, noisy air conditioner, duct tape repairs on the... More

Has seen better days. Ridiculously stained carpets. Air conditioners that just about work very noisy though. The only thing working for it is the close proximity to the main shopping area in Waikiki. In fact the location is brilliant. Service wise they were very good. Breakfast was mediocre. To be fair, it was a good stay for two nights. Comfortable... More

As for an overnight stay of 24.99 dollars, a parking lot is taken. Furthermore, the price for amenity of 10 dollars per day. It should carry out a fee indicator including these . The air-conditioner of the room is noisily and ineffective.
