Stay at the Queen Kapiolani in November 2014, reviews of this hotel were pretty accurate and enjoyed my stay. You can see the ocean as you step outside the hotel, 2 blocks to the beach. Along the way is Teddy's burger place, Starbucks and a restaurant above Starbucks that serves all 3 meals and has a happy hour. I ate... More

In October I visited friends out on north shore. For my last night, I returned to this local favorite hotel after many years. Still a great value and unbeatable location right next to Kapiolani Park. Just a few minutes walk to Sans Souci Beach and the Hau Tree Lanai, a great place for breakfast or lunch just above the sand... More

I was moving away from the island on short notice. This was one of the only hotels I could get reservations with a short lead time. Now I know why... The rooms are old fashioned, small and dingy. The main issue, was that I awoke with bites all over my arms only to find my entire room was infested with... More

Close to the beach, friendly staff, great price for proximity to beach. They upgraded my room to a junior suite upon arrival, so I had an excellent view of Diamonhead with a balcony. I couldn't hear any animals from the zoo.

The Queen Kap has been around awhile, but worth booking. A very good value for Honolulu. The upper floors have nice ocean and Diamond head views. Our room had a fantastic Diamond head view, tho we were on a lower floor. Nice size room! Cute lanai....with a couple of chairs and little table. Pool is wonderful, just a bit on... More

We were impressed driving by the Queen Kapiolani. It looks out to the zoo, has a beautiful entrance and is easy to find. It feels like a hotel in Hawaii, versus a hotel that could be anywhere (like some of the others nearby). The staff was very friendly. Everyone from the front desk (who found us an early check in... We enjoyed our stay at the Queen Kapiolani very much. It is an old hotel that has been fairly well renovated. Our big complaint was the size of the room, not large enough to accommodate two queens or kings, so we had to make do with full beds. We really needed a suite or additional room for three people. Beds... More

If you are looking for a place on Waikiki that is sort of affordable, The Queen K could work for you. It is not new, there are places were the facility looks "tired" (chipped paint, dings on the furniture) but the hotel is clean, and only a block from the beach. Staff was very friendly. WiFi is complementary, the hotel... More

My husband and I spent 4 nights at Queen Kapiolani. We were upgraded to the suite since they seem to have enough availability those days. We had a great view to diamond head crater and we could even hear the animals at the zoo (which happens to be very close to the hotel). The location was perfect although parking can... More
