Horrible old hotel. Lobby is nice but that's about it. Rooms have thin Windows and single pane old Windows. Can hear cars and people talking all night long. When asked about it at the front desk they basically said that's too bad... You're in Waikiki. What does that mean? Roof was peeling and had the old popcorn roofs. Old carpet... More

We stayed here earlier this month for 5 nights before departing on our cruise, and returned for 2 nights before coming home. We had booked a City View room via our travel agent. Post cruise, we were upgraded to a Junior Suite which was appreciated. Yes the hotel is older and could do with updating but it suited our needs... More

..... I can find an affordable rate. Actually booked online through the hotel's website based on a sale email I received from Aqua Hotels.. so got 25% off the regular list price for a Diamond head view room. Called and asked for a high floor on the corner and had 18th floor (sub penthouse) with an unobstructed view of the... More

We stayed here for two nights on a recent trip to Honolulu. I would agree with the other reviews that the hotel provides basic accommodations. We found the room to be comfortable, clean, but a bit dated and worn. We were on the ninth floor and had a balcony with a view of Diamond Head. The view is what took... More

If you are looking to travel to Honolulu and budget is a concern this may be a consideration for you. While the hotel is not perfect, it does meet the needs of someone that is not looking to spend countless hours in their room but as a base to get a good night sleep to recharge for your beach time... Queen Kapiolani was perfect for us. The hotel is dated but very comfortable and the reception staff was excellent. I think a lot would depend on which room you were given. We were on the 12th floor in a corner unit, overlooking Diamond Head and the Ocean. The outlook was magnificent. Bed was comfortable, good bathroom and a little balcony... More

My husband and I stayed here for 6 nights beginning of January. We paid about $100 per night for the basic room and received a free upgrade (woo hoo very lucky) the room was clean, beds comfortable. We had a balcony that over looked the zoo. Staff were very friendly. Happy hour every afternoon where we had a few cocktails.... More

The Queen Kapiolani is located at the far end of Waikiki with views of the ocean, Diamond Head, and next to the Zoo. It is an older hotel that still has some charm, with some updating, but still showing it's age. The staff was exceptional, and even though the room was somewhat dated it was clean and comfortable. Flat screen... More

Rooms are very small and old. We found that with 4 people in one room it was pretty tight quarters. They only had 2 towels in the room and we had to request more. 50 dollars a day for valet parking, plus tipping is quite an extra cost so only have a car there if your really need it. Lots... More
