The reviews sum up this hotel - needs refurbishment as it is a bit tatty and tired!! But generally nice hotel with nice and helpful staff! But it is 2 minutes away from Waikiki Beach so the location is great! Although there are shops and restaurants near by, you can end up walking a while trying to find the one... more

We have just returned to the UK from a two week stay at the Queen Kapiolani, and it was pretty much what we expected after reading a few reviews. It is in need of refurbishment , it really does look tired and out dated. The room we were given on the Penthouse floor was the smallest double room I have... more

Stayed in Oceanview Kitchenette on almost top floor with great view of both Diamond Head and Ocean from Balcony. Room had a king bed and plenty of room and was a little worn but its just a place to sleep. the staff were friendly and helpful. My only complaint is that the room was noisy from the streets mainly due... more

Stayed two nights here in June 2008. Was told that I had been "upgraded" when I checked in only to find that my room was old, dated and very worn (can't imagine what I'd have gotten had I not been "upgraded"). Furnishings were old and in disrepair; the carpeting in poor shape. Bathroom was even worse - the tub was... more

I stayed at the Queen Kap for my weeklong vacation in Oahu. My first impression was that it was old and could have used new carpets and a paint job- especially in the hallways, but our room was clean and large enough for 3 people. The AC (very important in Hawaii!) worked well and the maid did a great job... more

I have stayed at this hotel three times already. The staff were always eager to help about local hot spots and how to get there. The views from the room are ok if you get a partial ocean view room. The rooms were a little cramped and dated, but cleaned and vacumed every day and the balcony was nice to... more

For less than 100.00 a night. I paid 88.00usd a night On the 15 floors with a Diamond Head & Ocean View room. My room was very Quiet ... No Street noise or elevator shaft noise. Clean and comfortable but we have to admit the hotel will need a "Facelift" as soon as possible. We went to the restaurant and... more

My husband and I with 2 children went to much needed vacation this January, 2008. We liked the view from our room and everything was decent BUT at night we could not sleep. The room doesn't have solid windows -- they are a 2-inch glass blinds that do not block any noise and hotel located on a very, very busy... more

The hotel is old but I thought it was clean and tidy. We had a standard room which was very small (hard to get bags through the door - furniture prevented opening door fully). It is rather noisy but we slept with the air-con on so that blocked out most noise. It has the basics and is good value for... more
