We stayed in an unrenovated room which was clean but shabby. (The toilet rocked and the bathtub drain was broken.) But the mountain/city views were nice and I liked the quieter location. We were not disturbed by the ongoing construction. The walk to the beach is fast. The staff is pleasant. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who plans... more

I hope you reported these deficiencies, as these are very easy to correct. We appreciate being told so we can have the opportunity of "making it right" for you. I'm happy to hear that...

My family and I have stayed at Waikiki Sunset many, many times and have always enjoyed our visits. But the most recent stay was the most impressive with newly updated, renovated kitchen, bathroom, furnishings. The unit was also sparkling clean... Fantastic! more

This hotel is on the far east end of Waikiki which had certain advantages from my point of view. First, entering and leaving Waikiki from the east on Kapahulu Avenue was a much easier drive than going through crowded Kalakua or Ala Moana streets, plus just down the road on Kapahulu are Genki Sushi and Rainbow Drive-In restaurants and Safeway... more

We have stayed in aston hotels for the past 2 trips. Aston banyan was excellent and aston pacific monarch was a total dissapointment. We are hoping this will be as good a stay as banyan's and I will let you know, readers, how it is afterwards. In the meantime, please give us any tips or suggestions to make our stay... more

do not believe the photos. this place is old and dingy. they have no services. the halls are dusty and dark. the rooms are dirty and VERY old. the rugs have never been cleaned and the showers have mold. this hotel is surrounded by high end hotels and does noting to compete. finally, the staff is not helpful and often... more

Aloha Sunlover094, Mahalo for your candid comments regarding your recent stay a the Aston Waikiki Sunset. I would appreciate hearing from you on the room you stayed in so I can personally inspect it. This was our 4th time staying at the Waikiki Sunset, as we love the location and staff. This stay however was a little shorter than normal (3nights) as we had just come off the NCL Cruise line. We had booked a two bedroom apartment as we have two young children, and we were given a newly renovated room on the... more

My family had a great 2 weeks in Waikiki and the Aston Waikiki Sunset was very suitable to our needs, and our budget. With 4 children (8-15yrs) the Sunset was a good location. It was a short walk to the beach, but far enough away to be out of the nightlife noise. We were on the 37th floor and had... more

What an amazing experience we just had at this hotel. To be fair, I must admit the rooms that have not been renovated yet are very worn and on the shabby side. We reserved a one-bedroom room with a pull-out sofa originally. We quickly found out the pull-out sofa did not have a satisfactory mattress for an adult. We asked... more

4 of us stayed in a remodeled mountain-view room, and it was awesome! I was nervous after reading less-than-complimentary reviews, but I was happy to find a clean, spacious room with a great view (35th floor) and modern amenities. We bought groceries the first day and probably saved hundreds of $$ on food! The bathroom was clean and modern, and... more

We stayed in a one bedroom unit 4/22 to 4/30. It was not a newly remodeled unit, yet it was still nice and very functional. Every employee of the hotel we had contact with was very friendly and helpful. The view out of our 14th floor room was great, with Diamond Head on the left, and slices of ocean and... more
