We stayed at the Waikiki Banyan from 6-11 October 2014 to round out our family holiday to the US from Australia. Our first impressions were of a nice lobby area and helpful staff. The room was a little disappointing, much more dated than we expected, and the sofabed mechanism was broken and the sofa bed not set up with linen,... More

We stayed at the Banyan Wikiki from17-21 September 2014. The hotel is quite large and only a couple of blocks from Waikiki beach. The decor is a bit 70-80s but do not let that put you off. On the first night only two of us were staying. However they gave us a room with only two single beds and a... More

First the positives, Location provides for a short walk to the beach, friendly staff, room was clean and the kitchen was large, beautiful mountain view, comfortable bed. There is a small market and a coffee kiosk. Now the downside, The hotel needs a major facelift, the pool deck is large but the constant noise from work being done drove me... More

This was our first time in Hawaii and we travelled with the whole family so we wanted a hotel that could offer us a small kitchen in it and this hotel delivered. It was a short walk to Waikiki beach and the staff downstairs were more then happy to help us book our tours and tell us about the local... More

Good option for families - self contained kitchen, swimming pool, playground and lovely koi fishpond in reception. Room was clean and comfortable. There were noisy pool renovations happening during out stay but we still managed to sleep ok. Hotel is about 200m walk to the beach so there are lots of other closer options but this hotel is good value.... More

My family of 4 stayed at Aston Banyan Waikiki in April 2014. We specifically wanted accomodation where there was an option of separate room. We stayed on 32nd or 37th floor (can't remember exactly) and we had a mountain view (which was beautiful). On arrival we asked for a security lock to be installed on the balcony door so our... More

We booked a room on 07/08/14 just as Hurricane Iselle was about to land in Oahu. Original our room as on the 35th floor tower 2 which we later learned was renovated. However, I am scared of heights and with the wind requested a lower room. We wound up on the 11th floor of tower 1 and this room was... More

Sorry to hear we were not able to accommodate you with a renovated room on the lower floor. We have since reviewed your photos that have shared them with the Maintenance and Housekeeping Department and will be scheduled for renovation soon. We are happy that though "Hurricane Iselle and Julio" was approaching, you still choose to stay with us and... More

BANMGR, Manager at Aston at the Waikiki Banyan, responded to this review

We are sorry to hear that about your disappointment in the Aston at the Waikiki Banyan. Yes, unfortunately due to the weather condition (Hurricane Iselle & Hurricane Julio) the Waikiki Banyan Condominum Associates closed the pool area for the safety of all. Though we were very fortunate that neither impacted the island of Oahu, our loved ones on the Big... More
