This is your basic average hotel, around 3 stars. Have everything you need no frills or whistles. We were on the 14th floor with a mountain view in the tower. We had no problems with anything. The breakfast at the Plantation Café is over priced, but so is everything in Hawaii. They don't have room service. Which I didn't realize... More

We stayed here for 4 nights of our 11 day honeymoon in Hawaii. Disappointment doesn't cover it. I've stayed at Motel 6s that had bigger and more comfortable beds. My wife actually cried after we checked in because she couldn't believe how poor the accommodations were for the package that we booked for our honeymoon. My only compliment is that... More

Stayed several nights here. Mixed feelings.location good, especially if you like to. Shop.near beach and waterside park. Key card system for elevator cumbersome and many lights out so not sure one was going to your floor. Really strange in this day and age is not having a free computer access to get flight boarding passes. Room wifi included but needed to... More

We arrived just after noon. We live on another island in Hawaii, and we weren't in Honolulu just to shop and hang out at the beach. OK, I know the room might not be ready until 3pm. That's understandable and a stated policy. But the lady Iwalani at check-in was somewhere between matter-of-fact and unpleasant, told us we could go... More

Centrally located and just great! For a mid-range hotel, we were pleasantly surprised. Rooms were small but clean and quiet. The lobby is open air and staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. There's coffee in the mornings and juice in the afternoons in the lobby. The ABC store is on the first floor with LuLu's restaurant on the 2nd floor!... More

This was my second stay at Ala Moana Hotel and I'm a fan of the place. While it lacks the elegance of some of the more upscale hotels on Ala Moana Blvd. and it doesn't have the dining options of other nearby hotels, the location is priceless. In town for conferences on my last two visits to Hawaii, the Ala... More

My whole family stayed here and the hotel accommodated all of our different needs amongst an age range of 60 years! The rooms are excellent. The old part is more quaint and a little less noise protected, but not an issue. The newer area was excellent. The Banyan bar is a lovely oasis to return to and please do yourself... More

We stayed at this hotel for two days at the end of our holiday after staying in Waikiki at another hotel this hotel was a real disappointment. The hotel itself is ok, reasonable price and comfortable. Although we had to ask for additional towels and an extra pillow upon checking into our room. The location is terrible.... It couldn't be... If you are here on business and don't care about the beach, this might work for you. If you are a family, don't consider it. The closest beach is Ala Moana Beach Park and it's not family-friendly. If you feel like giving your kid a crash course in why people are homeless, or why some people yell at their kids... More

Dear Jbhb, Pleae accept my apology for the hotel not meeting your expectations during your family visit to the island. I wish that we would have been able to meet all of your needs as a visitor to Hawaii. Location seems to have been an issue with your visit and hope that Hawaii would be more desirable if Waikiki was... More

I have stayed here at least 4 times in the last 5 years with my most recent stay in June of 2013. First I have to say that I love the location of this hotel for one night stays on my way through Hawaii back to my home island in Kwajalein Atoll. Mostly becuase it is right next to the... More
