This hotel is definitely dated. the bathroom finishes looked like they hadnt been updated since the 80s. the room was spacious, though, and very clean. the view was amazing. and its a great location. very good value as well.

We returned recently from a wonderful week’s stay at the New Otani Kaimana Beach Hotel. We have been many times to Honolulu in the past but haven’t visited for a number of years. The Kaimana Beach has always been our favorite hotel. We were delighted to find that it is as lovely and friendly as ever. The hotel is right... More

We enjoyed our stay at the New Otani. Room was spacious, clean, and the staff was very responsive to requests and questions. Great location a little out of the heavy traffic. Reasonably priced too....

Nice quiet property at the edge of Waikiki. Close enough to walk to the busy part of town with its shops and restaurants in one direction, while walking in the other direction will take you to older areas with quiet charm and the feel of bygone eras. Too bad the Natatorium next door has been left derelict. Perhaps it will... More

My husband and I stayed there in 1977, when we first came to Hawaii and had great memories of walking to and from Waikiki through the park and being "so close, yet far away" from all the hustle and bustle. We since lived in Honolulu for 2 years and have always recommended it to friends. We decided to go back... More

While certainly not a new hotel, this one has a quieter location on Sans Souci Beach, across from Kapiolani Park. Rooms run small, but the ocean front have great views. Partial ocean views might take in the side of the nearby condos. Our east side room had a partial ocean view, but the Diamond Head view was blocked by another... More

Hotels in Waikiki are generally expensive, but the New Otani provides good value for money. I would call the Kaimana beach area the quiet end of Waikiki. Still, with all the activity in Kapiolani park, the area is very active. Waikiki while fun, can feel like a tourist trap when you are in the heart of it. It is an... More

This hotel is next to The Colony Surf and the Outrigger Canoe Club and is in an area know as The Gold Coast next to Diamond Head. You're in walking distance to the Waikiki strip of shops and night spots along Kalakaua and the aquarium and zoo. But far away so that if you open the sliding door you can... More

Recently stayed here for 2 weeks with family in a moderate room. Staff friendly rooms cleaned everyday. A bit of a walk into the centre of everything. Hotel is a bit dated but that didn't bother us Beach behind hotel was amazing very clean and not crowded. Staff and management are exceptional.

We recently enjoyed a few days stop over at the New Otani Kaimana hotel. My brother and his wife have vacationed there for the last 30 years...so I had to check it out for myself! Got a corner room with spectacular views of Waikiki Beach. Lovely sitting out on the large balcony. The beach area was secluded but easy to... More
