My wife and I stayed in the tower in mid--July for 5 nights. Half way through I saw an enormous cockroach on the bathroom counter, which I then killed. We got transferred to another room, at my request. The rooms (both) are very small. The hotel is undergoing a very needed renovation. Everything in the room is dated. But the... More

Loved our stay here! Had a superior ocean view room and our view was amazing. Rooms are well equipped and very clean. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Hau Tree restaurant is well worth a visit, bit pricey, but food is very good and don't think anything beats this location. An evening meal, sat watching the sunset over the ocean... More

Very clean, very friendly, attentive staff. Towels and bamboo mats are provided for the beach free of charge. Parking is expensive, but we found free parking every night other than July 4. Adjacent to a public park great for morning walks, runs...I even did Yoga in the park one day. Great views of Waikiki...we loved the fireworks, too! Much more... More

I've stayed here several times now and absolutely love this place. Right on the ocean just outside the hustle bustle of Waikiki, yet a world apart in serenity and aloha spirit. Make sure you spring for the corner rooms - there is no better way to treat yourself. The rooms are not large, but well equipped. Friendliest service. Great lobby... More

The hotel was fine and the restaurant was a bit pricey but actually very good. My only other comment is that there is often a photograph of a natural pool associated with the hotel. It is actually next to the hotel and was a public natural pool that has been closed to the public and I think that the hotel... More

Our Diamond Head view room was very small, the sink in a recess in the room and toilet and shower seperated from sink area by a door, very cramped. However was kept spotlessly clean by housekeeping staff. The restaurant was too expensive for us for to eat at. The beach area was still beautiful and the hotel provided mats and... More

After booking I had mixed feelings about both its location and an email advising of construction work going on in the hotel, but ... I really enjoyed my stay. Its location is both a plus and a minus, to the far East end of Waikiki beach, hence isolated from the noise and pace of Waikiki city, which means it is... More

We stayed in this hotel overnight after visiting Maui and Hawaii. We had previously stayed in the busier, bustling center of Wakiki and we were looking for a more relaxed and less hectic environment, before catching a flight to the mainlnd US. The New Otani was perfect for our requirements. Its ner Diamond Head. It's older and being renovated. Our... More

We stayed at this wonderful hotel 4 days in June 2014. The start of our Hawaiian Vacation, and we were not disappointed. Our Waikiki and Diamond Head views were spectacular, Fireworks on Friday night, Rainbows over the Pacific, green park , well maintained right next door. The room was serviced twice a day, and a turn down service each evening.The... More

Nice hotel, located directly on the beach. Positives? Away from the Waikiki crowds. Negatives? Away from eating places outside of the hotel's 2 dressy restaurants and small bar. The hotel is also going through a major renovation at this time (June 2014). If you plan on being in your room beyond 9am in the mornings (during the week) beware. Renovation... More
