The New Otani is just far enough away from the bustle of Waikiki to allow yourself to relax and find plenty of room on the beach to stretch out. This is definitely the quieter end of a very lovely beach. We arrived from an early flight and were thrilled to find we were able to check in early. We booked... more

Jogging early in the a.m. followed by Island exploration the rest of the day was our routine this time on Oahu. The location was far enough from Waikiki to get a good night's sleep but still within walking distance to take advantage of all it offers. The rooms were kind of small but we were not spending alot of time... more

We arrived on May 30 and stayed till June 6th and had a great time! Everyone is so friendly there and that helps when you're first time travelers and women traveling alone at that. They made us feel so welcomed and took care of our every need while there. We ate at the Hotel restaurant for breakfast each day and... more

We came here on the advice of a family member who had been to the Hau Tree Restaurant for lunch, and we were very glad we did. The hotel is perfect for those who don't want to be on the "main drag" of Waikiki and are happy not to be seduced every five minutes by shopping at expensive stores for... more

This hotel was great. The price was fair and its ocean front with a beautiful beach. The hotel is outside the Waikiki area (only a 3 block walk/10 minutes) but we loved it. If you stay in Waikiki, you have the noisy night crowd late into the night and early in the morning. It was so quiet and peaceful at... more

If you want to get away from Waikiki, that is the one. Of course you have to walk 10 minutes whenever you want anything. Even though they have very good dining and room service right there. The beach is nice but more windy then in Waikiki. The price for the room is a real deal but you have to pay... more

This was my second stay (the first was 9 years ago), and the place has only improved over time. The location is perfect because it is away from the craziness of Waikiki, and it is nestled between the ocean and beautiful Kapiolani Park, walking distance to the Zoo and Aquarium, and with gorgeous unobstructed ocean views. I had booked an... more

My husband and I arrived at the New Otani on April 5, 2009. Right away we were greeted by the very friendly ladies at the front desk. We had asked about an upgrade to an ocean view room and was told it would be an additional $50.00 a night. We were glad to accept the offer because we had called... more

The hotel is a wonderful little gem away from the packed high rise towers of Waikiki proper. It's only about six stories high and perfect for a solo traveler or couple who want a clean quiet comfortable atmosphere at a reasonable price. The "Moderate" rooms are smaller than the typical American hotel room but I spent most of my time... more

Our stay at the New Otami involved two seperate nights, one before a cruise around the Hawaiian islands, and one night after. The hotel is located near San Sousis Beach, about 10-15 mins walk away from Waikiki. Had we had more time it would have been nice to enjoy the peace and quiet near the hotel. However, since we had... more
