Over several years I have spent a month in January when Seattle is both cold and wet. The room I get is small but it is clean and close to the beach. There is a nice swimming pool there and huge working out places. You can take classes there for just a few days or a couple months. Some people... More

Up front disclaimer: We did not stay here or use any facilities besides the restrooms. We got lost in Honolulu, on foot, without smart phones. We'd been wandering for a while and desperately needed a restroom but could not find a place that would let us use one. Finally, we found this place. It looked dingy and under-lit but with... More

Had private in-room bathroom at $55 a night (inclusive). That price is impossible to beat in Honolulu. To sleep and shower with great location are all I wanted. Shower worked great. Room was outdated but served its purpose. Street noise was horrendous. Borrowed a fan to keep cool. Entire place stunk of urine. Washing machine took my money but did... More

Staying in the 75$ plus 10$ parking penthouse as a couple as we speak. Pretty rough, I'm starting to itch. Building is to be demolished this year then no more "Y" accommodations I'm told. I know the YMCA and YWCA are organizations that do a lot of good, hopefully my payment will go towards that. Very dirty building. Door does... More

Our stay was really disappointing. The room was extremely loud so we could not sleep more than 5 am. There was not air conditioner nor fan, and the blinds in the room were broken and dirty. The whole building is rusted and not clean with a bad odor in corridors. There’s no hot water in private rooms, and staff would... More

To preface, I am not one to write reviews. Even if I had a awful experience, I like to just forget about it and move on. However, my stay at the Central YMCA in Honolulu compelled me to say something. In short: YOU ARE BETTER OFF ALMOST ANYWHERE ELSE. The saving grace for this YMCA is it's location. Directly across... Directly opposite Ala Moana Shopping Center, this old, dated building is very conveniently located for shopping, food and bus service. There's also a Walmart several blocks away. I had a room on the 5th floor.... was basic .. and I mean basic... a bed, table and a small bathroom with a shower .. all in need of a major overhaul, especially... More

Stayed one day and wish I didn't even considered it. I got physically sick from the dirty conditions; there's pretty much mold, must, and dust. If you have bad allergies like me, I'd avoid entertaining the thought of coming here. Also, it is more like a halfway house and the noise level from traffic is literally like you are sleeping... Situated at Ala Moana Center near Waikiki Beach this is the most important! It this a cheap and affordable place at a strategic location so it has many benefits. Across the road you can eat and drink in Ala Moana center. The penthouse on the roof is quite big and clean, do not expect a 5 star hotel at a... More
