If you are looking for the full service hotel ambiance - stop reading. If you like to explore and enjoy a homier experience in a pleasant neighborhood in a charming room with a lovely hostess...then continue! I am not claiming perfection but for me, the stay was wonderfully relaxing and without the bustle and hastle of big hotels. This B&B... More

We recently booked the Makai Suite for four nights with Joanne, and were favourably impressed with the accommodation. The room was spacious and comfortable with a lovely large lanai affording views towards Waikiki’s hotels and apartments in the distance. Her sizeable property, which includes a good-sized garden with fruit trees and lawns, is located at the end of a quiet... More

We stayed in November 2013, slept in the Princess' enormous bed - what fun! It's a lovely spacious room with windows and a lanai for cross breezes all night long. We woke to singng birds and floral scents wafting in. Neighborhood is quiet. We'd definitely do it again! It's different from a beachfront hotel. If that's what you'd like, then... More

Breakfast was great. Lots of fresh fruit and some local specialties. Other guests were friendly and interesting company, as was our hostess and her family. Makai Suite was spacious and comfortable. Hostess provided soft drinks and bottled water in our room and made provisions for early breakfast. House is in a safe and convenient neighborhood, not conducive to nightlife...but neither... More

We visited Joanna in October 2013 (sorry Joanna to post review so late;) and we had an amazing experience of staying at her B&B. The location is perfect (short 15minutes walk to the beach, view on Diamond Head). Breakfast was tasty and exotic, starting from yummy fresh local fruits finished by sweet pastry etc (everyday something else is served). We... More

First of all, the location of this B&B is very convenient. You can walk within fifteen minutes to Kuhio Beach Park at Waikiki Beach. A very nice place to swim. Within a short walk you are in the midst of the streets of Waikiki. Furthermore the room was spacious and it was quiet. In the morning you will awake to... More

Joanne is a lovely hostess who immediately impresses with her smile and gentle sense of humor. We arrived fairly late and were delighted when we found cold water and beer in the fridge in our room to help us overcome the 10 hour flight from Newark. Waking up to singing birds, was followed by excellent breakfasts; a huge variety of... More

A visit to Diamond Head Bed and Breakfast is like a visit with your favorite aunt. Not everything is exactly as you would like, but the love and care more than compensate. Some quirks we enjoyed were discovering an oil painting hanging inside our closet, a giant bed, formerly owned by a real live princess, and the serenade of many... More

Don’t ruin your Hawaii trip by staying at Diamond Head Bed and Breakfast. Here are a few things we experienced: 1. roaches in our room 2. two big dogs growling at us when coming in after dinner – that wouldn’t let us get to our room 3. no person in charge when coming in at night 4. room wasn’t clean... Diamond Head b&b is unusual. It's a comfortable older home in the quiet upscale Diamond Head neighborhood. The owner Joanne and her live-in housekeeper Sumiko are 2 kind seniors who continue to tackle the challenge of running a b&b. There aren't any curtains on any of the windows, but the trees and mature gardens outside the windows provide privacy in... More
