Positioned perfectly for everything. Nightlife, restaurants, airport, Waikiki beach - everything! Very well priced considering you get a pool and airconditioning - cheap actually. Beds are a good size and reasonably comfortable, and the bathrooms are spacious enough. The cleaning staff could do a better job though, and in my book that filters up to management. I wouldn't go so... More

This motel was likely built in 1960 and after 55+ years of use shows serious sign of overuse and lack of maintenance and upgrades. Securing every last dollar out of the fixtures and fittings before the place is fall down or is demolished seems to be the management's strategy. The positives: location--the property is within walking distance to anywhere within... More

We got a room on the third (top) floor. There are no elevators so we had to carry our luggage up the stairs. Luckily we only had a carry on size luggage. The walls are a bit thin because I could hear the couple in the next room arguing at night even when I had the TV on. The AC,... More

Overall, this is a lower end hotel. Parking is extremely limited near the hotel, so discounts are provided for a deck several blocks away. While the hotel is only two stories in height, it does not have an elevator, so bags must be carried up exterior stair cases. Our unit's kitchen area was quite dirty and greasy and cabinets were... The people that worked for the hotel were really friendly. During our stay the electric cards went down and I could only ask the workers to allow me into my room. However, they were always there when we needed them and didn't charge us a nightly fee. The room had a kitchen and was in great walking distance to everything... More

Honolulu in August is not the cheapest place to visit. The White Sands Hotel though offers a reasonable budget alternative. It is not a luxury hotel, but it was comfortable and adequate for a stay of 5 nights. The first impression, having arrived late and jet-lagged on a Sunday evening was of palm trees, a nice pool and birdsong. It... More

We stayed here in March. It was pretty great! We had the one bedroom with the kitchen on the second floor overlooking the hot tub. It was a little dated, but clean. The beds were comfortable, AC worked great, the kitchen was nice and saved us a lot of money eating out. Had a full sized fridge too. The lanai... More

We got a great rate by calling their reservations number and all their staff were very helpful. There is a nice pool and wifi in the main lobby area. It's in a good area, right down dukes lane to the beach. I had a good experience here and for the price and location we will stay here again.

Upon check-in, we were told that their key system had been broken for 2 weeks that we needed an escort every time we go into our room. The system seemed to be fixed after a half way through our stay, but we had to switch keys once after that and the problem with one of our keys at the end.... More

First, this hotel looks a little dirty so I wasn't expecting it was nice. I stayed on the 3th floor and it was actually super comfortable and nice room! Really clean and wide inside. They charge resort fee. You need to pay that when you check out. But our room key was broken or something so we needed to ask... More
