We traveled with my parents, brother, and three teens, renting three rooms. We booked through Hotwire, but I won't go into my review of them here! While our rooms were not all together, that wasn't a problem. The rooms were clean, each with a king-size bed and a pull-out sofa. Unless you have small children, sleeper sofas just aren't that... more

As a resident of Hawaii, not Oahu, I booked the Ilikai when a friend came to visit from Japan. My husband and I had stayed there the end of January for a couple of nights and were very pleased. This trip however, under new ownership, was a shock and disappointment. We had a lovely large ocean front room. After a... more

Great place to stay but avoid the 'hotel' . The "hotel" is only 200 of the over 1000 condos. Great location, great view of ocean, luau at the Hilton and fireworks. Spacious, newly remodeled rooms. Nice pool. Great restaurant at the top of the hotel with wonderful views. more

Newly renovated room offered one king bed and a couch, full kitchen, bathroom with shower and a very nice lanai. We assumend the couch was a pull out - it wasn't. I was travelling with my mom and my 14 year old daughter, so we took turns on the couch. As this was a condo unti booked through an agency,... more

My wife and I rented a condo at the Ilikai for a week. The parking rate is really high at the hotel, $18 a night. On top of that, you have to tip the guys every time you retrieve your car. A much better option is right behind the Ilikai at the Marina. It is about a 1 minute walk. The... more

My family just recently stayed at the Ilikai Hotel in Honolulu. My son and family arrived there on morning of April 29 from South Carolina. We arrived from Arizona that afternoon. We had a two bedroom suite (2426) at the end of a long hall. Immediately we all noticed a very strong, foul odor as we walked down the hall... more

I booked this hotel through Hot Wire and Shell Vacations and got a great deal on airfare and room. I have traveled the world and stayed in high end hotels to hammock cabanas on the beach. This was a pleasant surprise. We upgraded to a partial ocean view on the fourth floor which was very pleasant and more than partial.... more

We found the Ilikai to be very old and dated with not alot happening in the area or in the hotel. We had a condo on the 7th floor which had the furnishings of 1964, bed coverings were dated and dusty as was the rest of the appartment. Views from our balcany however were stunning. There was nothing tropical about... more

We rented a condo at the Ilikai through Waikiki Oceanfront Rentals who hooked us up with the owner of the suite. I paid the owner directly through PayPal. Having heard very mixed reviews I was leary but the location was ideal as I was working on the other islands and had to make frequent trips to the airport. The Ilikai... more

We specifically chose the Ilikai because of the 50th Anniversary of Statehood package where you buy 2 nights and get the 3rd night free, complimentary valet parking and complimentary continental breakfast. We placed an online reservation where it listed $149 as the rate each night, which was for the Ocean Lagoon Kitchen room, and the special stated "3rd night free,... more
