This is my only review of The Breakers in spite of having stayed here for the last four years. As you can gather from the earlier reviews, this is no luxury hotel and it does have downsides like street noise ( rooster crowings, early morning garbage trucks and food trucks on an adjacent lot). If these things will bother you,... More

We stayed for a couple of nights. Loved it! Wasabi is delicious. Perhaps our favorite Japanese restaurant in Hawaii. , arancino is also very good. Will return. For sure. Nice pool. Friendly service. Nice banyan tree.free ice machine. Vending machine on premises. Great location. Minutes walk to the beach. Steps from many excellent places to eat. Convenience stores nearby. A/C... More

My one week's stay at the Breakers was a huge disappointment for several reasons. The hotel is a low rise in one of the busiest sections of Waikiki. The noise level from the staff, the street, and the rooster prevented a decent night's sleep for my entire visit. House keeping is poor with my room only being seen to twice... More

The breakers is a hidden gem. Nice rooms, pool and family atmosphere. We always felt comfortable and relaxed. When you leave for the day, drop your key at the desk. When you come back your welcomed by name Only advice is to stay in the middle of the property. Can get a little nosey.

Visited for 9 nights January 8-18th. My first visit was 49 years ago with my parents and I remembered it as a fun place to stay even then. Love the open air concept of the rooms. The staff is very friendly and accommodating and "pets", 2 cats and Bul Bul the bird are an added bonus. Close to the beach... More

We traveled here many years ago, but felt the need to give our impression. We thankfully were only staying here 3 nights before traveling to another island. One morning as my dad went to take a shower, a rat had somehow found its way into the shower. GROSS!!! It was horrible!!! It was running all over the bathroom and eventually... More

We were transiting in Honolulu on a very busy weekend and wanted to find a decently priced hotel in a good location. With mediocre hotels at around $200 plus that night, we were scrambling to find a hotel that offers good value. We decided on the Breakers Hotel and emailed/called the hotel directly for rates and information the week before... More

Quiet old Hawaiian motel. Close to everything. Beach 2 blocks away. But I loved just hanging out at the pool. Peaceful. There were no kids which was super great, but everyone looked 65 & older. They all loved to sit under the tree and talk starting @ 7am, which was abit of a bummer since are room was right above... More

I returned to The Breakers after a 10 year absence… my family has been going to the Big Island in recent years, but it was good to be back in Waikiki. The Breakers is a very good choice to start a vacation in Waikiki in a quiet, low key way. The low rise, Old Hawaii hotel has not changed in... More

Staying near Waikiki Beach in the heart of Honolulu doesn't have to cost a fortune. The Breakers Hotel is only 2 blocks from the beach on a quiet side street. Once you enter the courtyard with a breezy open air reception, courtyard pool and large lantern hung shade tree, you are back in old time Honolulu. This is not the... More
