we loved the location, the facility, the PX (so great to get everything you need right on site), the view and balcony, the staff, access to the beach, the welcoming orientation, the rates, and just about everything. So what would it take to be a five star - a little room upgrade - one bed had no end table, the... More

A friend suggested we stay at the Hale Koa on our recent stay in Honolulu, as hubby is retired USA Reserve, so we did so, and were not disappointed. Located right on Waikiki Beach, and within walking distance of many eateries and pricey upscale shopping, the hotel offered almost anything one could want, AND for a very reasonable price. We... My USMC retired husband and I have stayed here many times since our son, who is stationed at Pearl Harbor has lived there. The hotel is absolutely great! I have also stayed at the Sheraton Waikiki and the Hale Koa is so much better. The beach is wide with shallow water. The pools are so nice and the family pool... More

This was a GREAT hotel for the price and location. We stayed Oct 20-26. I read some of the reviews with poor ratings to have an idea of what we might expect during my stay. I was very concern as I went with my wife, eight year daughter and three old son. I must say, we did not have any... More

Since my husband is a veteran of the USMC, we were able to stay at the Hale Koa for a week during our Oahu vacation. EVERYTHING was wonderful. The room, the service at every ancillary, the entertainment, EVERYTHING! High & Right comedy show was hysterical! The Luau, top notch! The restaurants-Great food and excellent service! The location is PERFECT! Steps... More

While I am not a veteran, many members of my family are Army and as a result I was able to score a room at the Hale Koa when they visited Hawaii. The Hotel in on Waikiki Beach equidistant from the Ala Moana Mall and Lewers Street. You can't find a better location to enjoy all that Honolulu has to... More

Stayed at the Hale Koa for 5 nights. The grounds are amazing. Plenty of options for food and drinks on location. We only had an issue a couple of nights when there were screaming kids in the room next to ours at 2am. Thankfully they checked out so we could enjoy the rest of our stay. This Hotel is within... As a retired military officer, I have stayed at the Hale Koa 6 times in the past 8 years. If the airfare from the East Coast to Hawaii wasn't so expensive, this is the only place I would vacation. The pool complex is superb; the evening and breakfeast buffets are not only outstanding but very reasonably priced. The pristine park... More

We stayed there seven nights and found the place to be perfect. The first night we were given a parking lot view of the city and the rooms were a bit outdated. We requested two oceanview rooms for ourselves and our guest for the rest of our stay. They were able to accomdated us and the rooms were as different... More

The Hale Koa is only for military members (including retirees) and their families, so it's not open to the general public. So for those who qualify, the Hale Koa is quite nice. There are two towers where rooms either face the ocean at an angle or the city. I had one at the end of the hall (room 801) that... More
