This being a strictly military hotel, you don't expect the awe inspiring feel this establishment creates. You are right on beautiful Waikiki beach but away from the commercial feel of the big name hotel next door. That is one of my absolute favorite things about this hotel. It truly enhances the magic that is Hawaii. The open air check in... More

This is a Military Only hotel. Is it beachside and beautiful. Parking deck next door keeps your car close. AWESOME beach bar open late into the night. We were here for a party in the ballroom, but we walked all over the hotel before going back to our room. There is a small Mini Mart downstairs for snacks and other... More

Spent a week at this resort. It was a terrifi experience! The staff was so pleasant and warm. The customer service was amazing. Everyone smiled and went out of their way to answer any questions. There are several restaurants which cater from snacks to full service. One restaurant serves a buffet for breakfast and dinner. There is a wonderful beach... More

What a wonderful experience. Also did the luau. Rooms are large. Ours overlooked the park,so we saw all the military parade formations. White pigeons visited us on our balcony. Restaurant was delicious. Drinks on wikiki beach only $7. What a deal.

When the military ran the hotel it was for the military. Now it is in business for the tourist dollar. Hardly any of the visitors around the pool at any given time are military. Sunday brunch and the luau are the same. Can't hey a room with military ID because they ate having conventions. Sad! !!!!

I know, I know.....staying here is a privilege for active and retired military, so I should be thankful. However, I do feel that the hotel could spiff up their service and quality. The food is mediocre and the rooms and lanai's need updating.

We stayed here while visiting my brother who is currently an active military recruiter in Honolulu. The hotel was wonderful and the staff were very kind and accommodating. The room was nice and proximity to Waikiki beach and the city is incomparable. Everybody we encountered was in a good mood! We were sad to leave. I highly recommend this property... More

I'm retired USAF and have been reading/hearing about this property for years. Well worth the visit! Perfect location on Waikiki Beach, lovely views, scrumptious food, fun and informative luau, knowledgeable and always helpful service personnel. Beautiful hotel and grounds. Just a perfect vacation in every aspect. Highly recommended!

Was able to come back to the Hale Koa after a 10 year absence. Was happy to know that the service hasn't changed. Very friendly staff. Always someone available for any issues or questions. Room was nice. A bit dated. I would say it's time for a bit if s facelift and I believe they are doing that. One of... More

As we are not Military we dont get the pleasure of staying in this great location, however when in Waikiki we often drop in off the sand for a bite and a drink or to use the beautiful green spaces for the kids to run free. Great location on one of the nicer and quieter parts of the beach without... More
