This is an exception value as the location on Waikiki Beach is exceptional. Beautiful grounds and pools. Love the adults only pool. Yummy sushi "to go" avaiable in the PX. The only thing was the bed pillows. NOT GOOD. I had read another review saying they were lacking so we brought our own from home. Sure glad we did! I... more

I’ve stayed at the Hale Koa approximately 16 times over the last 26 years. The original concept was for an active member or retired member of the military to have a place of low to moderate cost for rest and relaxation. Unfortunately, the Hale Koa has lost this concept and decided to go completely upscale on food and beverages. The... more

If I'm staying in Waikiki I always stay at the Hale Koa. I have never experienced anything but the best from this hotel. Occasionally I'll stay at the Hilton Hawaiian Village if the Hale Koa is at capacity, but even the HHV can't compare the Hale Koa. It's simple, affordable, and wonderful. Don't get lost in the hustle and bustle... more

Huge disappointment. Hotel staff was under manned and overwhelmed with a large group. Spa was a disappointment - received a facial by a gorilla with rubber gloves, whose hands smelled of cigarette smoke. The massage on the beach was lovely and truly a joy - the exception to the stay. The rooms are old, worn down and ill-repaired. The prices... more

We stayed from the 7th to the 17th and enjoyed every minute of it. We had a corner room (9th floor) which gave us a view of the ocean and downtown Honolulu. The service and food were both great. The only issue I had was a few bed bug bites. I went to the front desk and they had housekeeping... more

This was our 4th stay at the Hale Koa over the past 20 years. Its stil a very nice hotel. The rooms are spacious and clean. Check-in is easy and the staff is very friendly. The barefoot bar on the beach is a wonderful place to unwind at the end of the day. Found the Mai Tais to be rather... more

We had a wonderful time. All accomodations were perfect. The staff was courteous and helpful. The location can't be beat! The rooms were spacious, the pool area was perfect for families with young and older kids. It was easy to make friends and enjoy ourselves. more

We loved the partial ocean view room--clean, comfortable and easy access to the ocean. The outdoor bar with live music was a great place to sip a drink and watch the sunset. The PX was perfect for snacks and souvenirs. more
