Hotel is conveniently located for all activities. Rooms were large but if you want a view, ask for a room facing the harbor otherwise you get one facing the parking lot. That should have been an offered option when you are arranging to stay. Restaurant for breakfast is outstanding for quality of food. Understaffed in valet parking. A turnoff was... more

We stayed one night here in April 2009. The property is a big complex with underground parking, shop, restaurant and interior pool. The Newport Visitor Information Center is located in a building near the hotel (great mansions !) and shops and restaurants are not far. The hotel has a roomy atrium with nautic theme. Our room was beautifully decorated and... more

Our family of four, includes two children ages 10 and 12, just spent a pleasant Memorial Holiday in Newport at the Marriott. The hotel was clean, spacious, and the staff friendly and helpful, while our kid's loved the good sized indoor pool and the adult's appreciated the well equipped health club. We found room rates all over the board on... more

just returned yesterday from a 2 night stay from the newport marriott. i'm not sure what 'landwlkr' had issues with but all my thoughts about the hotel were to the contrary. as a virtuoso travel agent, i felt the property was quite lovely. upon check in we were given a very nice room #650 which looked out on the harbour... more

I put a lot of effort into trying to pick the right hotel when I travel (I am a travel agent-- so it's my business to know), and very rarely am I disappointed. In this case, my recent stay at the Marriott Newport was a big disappointment. Our first issue was with our room assignment. Many of the rooms do... more

My cousin got married at the Marriott Hotel on 4/25/09. She also had her reception there in another room. It was wonderful. They booked approximately 70 rooms. Everyone had a wonderful time. The staff at the Mariott were very nice and very accommodating. The hotel's location could not have been better. You can walk to all the restaurants and shops.... more

Great hotel. Travelled with my rugby team for a weekend tourny. 20 degrees outside but the hotel was cozy and warm. In the middle of everything. Can't wait to go back in the summer when its warmer! more

Asked for nice view prior to visit. At first given a parking lot view with distant view of bridge. Moved to a harbor view with several dumpsters right below my room. Hotel was doing renovations, not told prior to visit. At 8PM, I started hearing jackhammers. Called front desk. They were not aware. Asked for them to check situation, at... more

We stayed in the Marriott for one night while visiting relatives in the Newport area. On arrival we were greeted with a smile and checked in within a few minutes. The room was of a reasonable size and had everything you would expect of a Marriott. The public areas were quite scruffy and the lifts were very creaky. All in... more
