Going rate when I looked at the hotel's site was $299/night. I decided to go with hotwire and scored a room for 2 nights at $169/night. I was so excited that we got such a good deal, but once we got there I realized that I would have been really disappointed if we paid full price. I just didn't feel... more

We spent June 29, 2009 to July 3, 2009 at the Hyatt. We had a wonderful time. We were on a mini celebration of our 25th wedding anniversary. There were a few mistakes made with people trying to send us wine and breakfast in bed to celebrate but they more than made up for it. From the front desk to... more

This hotel had a very professional staff and overall I had a great time. The rooms were clean and the location was good, but I just couldn't see myself wanting to spend that much again at the same hotel. Even splitting the cost with my travelling companions, it was very pricey. Unfortunately, it seems like it may just be the... more

This is a beautiful hotel on an island and I would highly recommend it but the only way I am staying here or recommending it to any of my friends is if the managment replaces the extremely rude lady Tanya from the front desk. I saw her giving attitude to so many folks. I don't understand why would managent keep... more

We recently spent 2 nights at the Hyatt. We were very disappointed in the hotel. We paid almost $500 for our room and it was not worth the money. We have stayed at many 5 star hotels and have no problem paying for top-notch accommodations. The hotel has been renovated but it is still obvious that it is an older... more

Thanks to a friend who is an event planner in Newport, we got a great rate for our 2-night mid-week stay at the Hyatt. Our room was upgraded to a bi-level suite at no charge to us. The hotel is nicely decorated, very contemporary. The suite had an oceanfront balcony and harbor views from the "living room" AND the bedroom.... more

Recently stayed here for a wedding. The room was awfully expensive ($300+/night), which I don't usualy mind if the quality and service are worth it. However, this hotel was terrible. Check-in was cumbersome, rooms were really small and loud (you could easily hear hallway conversations in your room), and they missed my wake-up call. Not the type of quality I... more

We have stayed here many times over the many years we have vistied Newport and more so with a child now attending Salve. The Hyatt looks great after almost a year of updates. We had some difficulty getting comfortable without the Auld Mug Lounge, a place where we enjoyed many good times. Oh well, progress I guess. The outdoor pool... more

We got a great rate which afforded us the opportunity to stay at this beautiful hotel. The hotel is situated on Goat Island which lends for an impressive introduction as you cross the bridge. Our taxi driver told us it was too far out of Newport - seriously it is a five minute walk accross the access bridge and you... more

Just back from a trip to Newport. This hotel is not worth the money. Rooms were small and not well designed. Air/heat vent positioned so that it blew directly on you all night. Ice machine outside room was so loud you couldn't hear tv in room. No public wi-fi anywhere in the hotel - you are required to purchase a... more
