My wife and I visited Newport for a last minute weekend getaway and after searching high and low, ended up booking this property with my Hyatt points. We booked primarily because of lack of other options, opportunity to use points and proximity to Newport. Had we had to pay the full asking price of what I believe was $700 for... More

We checked into the Hyatt on Friday. The Valet Parking was confusing and out of control. People were backing out of spaces making the line of cars do the same. Very disorganized. Our room wasn't ready until close to 4 even though we are Hyatt Gold Passport Level and were told at 1:00 it wouldn't be long!!! We ate lunch... More

This place is falling apart. It needs total refurbishing including most of the staff. It is a very expensive hotel for what it is. I wonder if Hyatt knows of its condition. We had water dripping from the ceiling, the bathroom door the did not close and could not be repaired , a terrible service by the waiters at breakfast.... More

Outrageous prices for mediocre food & services, nonstop weddings with drunk adults wandering halls at all hours of the night and overrun by out-of-control kids whose parents just don't care. Beds are hard/uncomfortable – definitely NOT a “heavenly bed,” pillows too hard & too small (definitely not down or quality feathers), bathrooms too small, toilet paper is wafer-thin, shower water... Although out of town in the sense that it's on the island, the short walk across the causeway or hotel shuttle mean that you're actually close to the town's many and interesting shops and restaurants but able to relax in the hotel's spacious grounds and good facilities. Excellent, friendly and helpful service from staff who couldn't do enough for you.... More

This is, by far, the best hotel in Newport. Located on Goat Island you get unbelievable views of the bay or harbor. We prefer to stay in the pricey Captain Quarters looking at the Bay. Recently renovated room was first class, roomy, and clean. Enjoyed the balcony. Hotel management went out of their way to make sure we were happy.... More

This is an absolutely amazing property and the service you'll receive is second to none. My wife and I thought we were in a Caribbean resort at times. The views are breathtaking, the grounds are beautiful and the friendliness and efforts of the staff are wonderful. We were able to sip cocktails from the Pineapples on the Bay bar in... More

The room had a very nice water view. It has a 24 hr gym, which is great. And I really did enjoy the sound of the seagulls and waking up to the sunset. The only drawback is that most rooms have an adjoining door to another room and you can hear absolutely everything that's going on in the room next... More

Our annual girls weekend away was launched off with spending the day here. We did NOT spend the night here so I can't comment on rooms. The property is gorgeous and we spent time at the lovely spa (I won't review spa here but separately) spa deck, pool, outside restaurant and outside lounge areas. I was lucky to find a... More

We had a very nice stay here but the property is priced well above its value. The regular rooms are pretty small for what they charge. Fortunately when we complained about the size and view we were upgraded to the captains quarters which were much better. You cant beat the location and if you get the right room the views... More
