After a wonderful wedding at the Hyatt in Boston my husband and I decided to do a minimoon in Newport, returning to the beautiful seaside town where we got engaged. We wanted something that was a simple ride from Boston, reasonably priced but still nice as this was a special place and wanted something that we'd be able to enjoy... More

A run down facility staffed with people somewhere between indifferent and rude. Entire hotel is musty. Our room was a 5 minute walk from the lobby. No one mentioned the location when booking the room. Restaurant was acceptable. Highlight was a Chinese intern who could not have tried harder to please us and a security guard, who took pity on... Even if you are not staying at this hotel you can have dinner near the water and watch the sun set. For casual outdoor dining try the "Pinneapple" place. Good drinks & great views. After dinner stroll the waterfront & see the small lighthouse on the property. They also have chairs to sit and watch the sunset and sailboats. Free... More

The size of the room surprised me, I expected it to be small, as is often the case in most hotels I’ve stayed at in the area. They always seem to try and consolidate everything in to the smallest space possible. But this connected room had a generous size. The staff was really helpful and friendly, particularly one of the... More

Let's start with the good. The view from the hotel's deck is great. A drink sitting in the adirondack chairs provided a nice end of the day respite. However, we were surprised and disappointed at the bathroom in our room. Tiny, no ventilation (fan or window), no hooks or racks of any kind for towels. The room was small as... More

I stayed here for a conference and the hotel is definitely a very nice and professional location for business as there were many conferences going on during, before and after ours. The rooms were very clean, modern and the staff was very professional so nothing really interesting to report there. "5 star hotel" from that perspective. They are restaurants where... More

We were very disappointed when we checked into our room at the Hyatt. we booked it online and were supposed to have a room with a view and balcony at an extra charge [rooms prices here are exorbitant for quality of room and public space] , When we arrived we told there were no rooms with a balcony available. we... What wonderful staff they have there! I don't know the difference between a 4 and a 5 but I am guessing the feel of this being a "resort" pushes it up to the 5 rating Hyatt gives it. I would like to point out the staff here are terrific. EVERYONE was incredibly friendly. Such great features from a perfect view... More

The view from the deck, lawn, pool and restaurant areas is excellent. Lots of sailboats to view in the early evening. The hotel itself is just lacking something that I would expect for the price point. The entire hotel feels dated. The room was partially renovated (new paint) but all the woodwork in the bathroom was chipped and scrapped. The... More

This property is located on Goat Island and the views from most areas of the property are amazing. I arrived on 6/5 to spend the weekend enjoying Newport before my race on Sunday morning. I completed "online" check-in the morning of the 5th and was notified by 11:30am that my room was ready for me. The room was average. I'm... More
