The Black Duck in is in an excellent location. Steps to the cobblestone streets of Newport, with plentiful shopping and restaurants. I have to say that that is one of the only positives of our stay at the Black Duck Inn. We arrived there for a weekend get away. Both nights we were awoken to the sound of yelling and... more

Just returned from a quick weekend getaway in Newport. Our stay at the Black Duck Inn was pleasant. We enjoyed the room, "The Champagne Suite", with a jacuzzi bathtub and gas fireplace. The inn has recently bee renovated and is art deco, an interesting and surprising touch. Pam was wonderful, friendly and breakfast both mornings was excellent. One complaint, not... more

This was our first trip to Newport, and decided to book the Black Duck Inn after researching on TripAdvisor and realizing that the inn had a winter package deal where you stay 1 night and get the 2nd night half off. What a great deal! Some other b&b's were surprisingly expensive for this time of the year (seriously, who else... more

This was the first B&B I have ever stayed at and I absolutely loved it. I went here for my anniversary, we are a young couple, and thought this to be perfect for our stay. The location is excellent, within walking distance to the waterfront, shops, restaurants, bars etc... We had stayed at the Meritage Suite, the room advertised on... more

We loved it!!! We went here for this past Memorial Day weekend and loved it. It was ultra modern and cool and the inn staff was very sweet. The Inn Matron (I don't remember her name) was great and very chatty. I think she was from Texas and was a great cook. I loved the breakfast they served. They also... more

Me and my girlfriend found the Black Duck online when we were researching Newport Inns and came across the Black Duck. It had a modern look and a great location to shopping and restaurants. The breakfast was great and was prepared perfectly. We would definitely come back again. more

Linda will make you feel like you;ve known her for years and the complimentary b'fast has something for everyone incuding made to order omellettes. Our room was clean as a whistle and the private bath was spotless. If I HAD to... more

We stayed at the Black Duck Inn in October 2007. It was our first time staying at a B & B. We originally chose this one because it was cheaper than many of the other b & b's in newport and we are not in the room all that often when we travel. We had a wonderful experience. Our room,... more

We stayed at the Black Duck Inn for part of our Newport honeymoon. We had wanted it for the entire stay but it was booked over the weekend. We stayed in one of the jacuzzi/fireplace rooms and we really loved it. Mary was extremely kind and made our stay thoroughly enjoyable. On our next trip down, we plan to stay... more

We enjoyed our weekend at the Black Duck Inn. You cannot beat the location - less than one block away from Bannisters Wharf (a very happening area) yet very quiet. Quaint, though small room with spacious bath - perfect for a short stay. Impeccably clean. Generous Continental b'fast (assorted muffins, breads, croissants, fruit, cereal, yogurt, coffee and juices) along with... more
