We booked 2 nights at the Newport Blues Inn which turned out to be three B and B's on the same street. The concierge put us in the Black Duck Inn which was at the bottom of the hill...not 2 blocks from all the restaurants and shops. It was quiet and lovely, yet we never got in our car for... More

A cozy inn with a central location. Simple 1 minute walk to all the shopping and restaurants you need. Easton Beach is just a 3-5 minutes drive (parking in the back of the inn is free and easy), but it's also a good starting point for bike rides to the cliff mansions or Ocean View Dr. Also, the staff (always... Thank you so much for staying with us! The Easton Beach is a fun place to visit with friends, or young children. All of the beaches in Newport are great, but the carousel, snack bar, and many activities happening at Easton Beach make it stand out from a typical beach day. We do have different staff members for breakfast each... More

We spent some time at this inn this August, staying up the street at their sister-property, the Blue Jewel. Breakfast is served at the Black Duck and it was fantastic! Lucia served us a frittata on the first day - we had the choice of veggie or sausage, I think. We had the veggie and it was absolutely delicious! Along... More

Dear Laura, We are so happy that you returned to visit us again and that you had an excellent trip! Newport is known for its quaint town and beaches, but there are also many unique activities to explore, such as a sunset cruise or fishing trip. Our staff is always available for information and to help with booking. We hope... More

My wife and I went to Newport for a wedding this past weekend. A friend of hours recommended the Black Duck Inn and we are so happy that he did. What a wonderful place to stay. We were in the sauvignon blanc room .Comfortable and modern amenities in an old style house right up the street from all the action... More

We are so happy that you enjoyed your stay at the Black Duck! The Black Duck is the most modern of all our inns, and has all updated amenities. There are often various festivals and concerts happening in Newport, and the Black Duck is so close to all the activities that it makes it easy to enjoy all of the... More

Like several reviewers, we were moved to the Black Duck Inn after booking the Newport Blues Inn for a 3 night stay. Because we assumed the Black Duck would share the same charm of lovely antiques and stained glass, we agreed to move because the room had a jacuzzi, parking in the rear and was a block closer downhill to... We just returned from two nights at the Black Duck. We were very happy with our stay. We stated in the Chardonnay room, which is quite small and overlooks the parking lot. We didn't care, but it might be an issue for some people. We just used it as a base of operations to see Newport, not a place to... More

Overall the rating would be about a 3 out of 10 here. We were moved to this property from our original booking at their sister inn, Newport Blues. I did not book at the Black Duck for it was not our taste/style, sort of faux ultra modern (think martini bar). However we took their "upgrade" to the Pinot Noir suite... More

I just came back from staying the weekend with my boyfriend. The Black Duck Inn was a lovely place to stay. The room was perfect for us. Very clean and super comfy bed. We received a box of chocolates and a bottle of wine when we checked in. We stayed in the champagne suite and it was very romantic with... More

My boyfriend and I stayed July for 4 nights we were in town for a wedding. It was clean and located in the heart of town. The staff was nice and the fresh cookies everyday were so good! My one complaint was that there was no full length mirror in the room which made it hard to get ready especially... More

You sure can't beat the location of this bed and breakfast - you are less than a block from the harbor and the shops. The mansions at Bellevue Ave. and the Cliff Walk are just a nice walk or short drive away. There is an amazing breakfast waiting for you here, with friendly and informative staff like Karen, who had... More
