First the strong points: Location---you can't beat the Melville for their mid-town address--- with off street parking!! Walk to everywhere, except maybe (?) the beach at 1 1/4 mi away. Just had a girls weekend in Newport. We stayed at the Melville House - Bob and Priscilla are great and very hospitable. Priscilla makes an AMAZING breakfast! My husband, I and our close friends just got back from a very relaxing and fun weekend at The Melville House. We found them on their website and were pleasantly surprised when we got there. We loved our stay at the Melville House Inn. The room was lovely, with our own bath. The street is quiet. There's off-street parking, very important in Newport. The breakfasts are to die for. My husband and I just got back from staying at the Melville house in Newport, RI this past weekend and had a wonderful time!
