Location was great , though all of Newport downtown is walkable. The room was a pit. I certainly understand that old buildings settle, but this (we stayed in building down alley-room #14 - though other rooms I saw were equally inferior) was horrible. Everyone whom we met working here was young, hip, and friendly- and wanted us to be comfortable and enjoy our time in Newport. The breakfast was delish, served until 11 AM. The ambience was an informal version of formal Victorian, and the location- walking distance to most everything- was perfect. This is a great place for a weekend get-away. more

The most atmospheric inn I've ever stayed at, the Inn at Bellevue is a time machine to nineteenth century gentility. A gorgeous old Victorian house, whisper quiet, beautifully decorated, I've stayed there twice a year for several years and kick myself for not having discovered it sooner.
