We were told that Newport is one of the must see places on our New England road trip. Perhaps, given we went just before the season had really started, this was the reason it didn't live up to our expectations. However, staying at the Francis Malbone House more than made our trip to Newport worthwhile. Janet was so helpful and... More

We stayed here in the middle of winter and just after a major snow storm. It was a wonderful respite from the weather! Charming, comfortable, friendly, and right downtown. A perfect weekend. Thank you.

My husband and I stayed here for an event in Newport. We have walked by this inn many, many times and who knew what a charming inn this is. This inn is absolutely wonderful. The staff is amazing. The innkeeper Will was extremely accommodating and gave such a warm welcome. It is very clean and the afternoon tea and desserts... More

We always send clients to the Francis Malbone House. It is single handedly the most well managed and gorgeous inn on the island. The owners are fantastic and work tirelessly to provide a memorable experience for their guests. I suggest to all searching for a place to stay to book at the Malbone, you won't regret it. Great location as... More

My husband and I just returned from celebrating our honeymoon at the Francis Malbone House in Newport. We could think of no more meaningful or beautiful place to spend this special vacation… For starters, the management and staff at the Francis Malbone are absolutely incredible – and make you feel like family the minute you enter the door. Will is... More

This was our third or fourth stay. This a truly comfortable and elegant inn. The rooms are not large but the are well furnished, the beds are huge but somewhat soft for our taste. The staff are very nice. The high point of the inn is the food. They only serve breakfast and nigh tea. The food is superb and... More

Beautiful house, very nice hosts, delicious breakfasts and afternoon tea! We enjoyed the recommendations for restaurants and visits to these magnificent mansions. The location is great, we can go to many places by foot. It would be great to have a special price when guests are staying for more than 2 days (we were there for 4 nights). Doesn't seem... More

Thank you both so much for staying with us we really enjoyed your company. One of the aspects that I like most about the Inn is our downtown location, it is so nice to open the front door and have top class dining and shopping just steps away. As far as the air conditioning, they are all in working order... More

Visited with my SO over the weekend. The Francis Malbone was super clean and our room was beautiful with a fireplace and a double Jacuzzi bath. The Bose stereo was perfect as you really don't watch TV in a place like this, it's very relaxing and a nice respite from the other cookie cutter hotels. Nice cushy robes were provided... More

Arrived on a Thursday afternoon for 3 nights at the Malbone House, just in time for afternoon tea. Tea consists of coffee or tea, and sweet and savory items. Tea became a ritual for us for the 3 days we were there; grab a cup of tea, a sweet item and a savory item, and sit in one of the... More
