My wife and I returned to Armistead cottage recently for our anniversary, and it never fails to please. Armistead Cottage is a blend of everything you can want from a B&B. It has a great location, great amenities, satisfying breakfast, and all for a great price. Romana has expert knowledge of the area and can help tailor each trip to... More

Our two night stay at Armistead Cottage was memorable and delightful. We really enjoyed Romana's personality, art, and ample, delicious breakfasts. She gave us good advice on things to see, too. The location was quiet and great for biking or the Cliff Walk; we also found we weren't far from either the harbor or Middletown. We recommend Armistead highly.

The Armistead is a labor of love for the owners, Charles and Romana. We benefited at the end of June from all that they have done in making their property a premier B&B. Let me begin with the owners; they are so welcoming. They want you to enjoy their home and their city. Charles was leaving for New York so... More

There are many accommodations in Newport but when I spoke with Romana over the phone, I knew The Armistead would be the best decision. From the moment we arrived we felt relaxed and welcome. Their home is impeccable; filled with beautiful antiques and European touches. Our room (The Victorian) was cozy and romantic. Breakfast was three delicious courses! We stayed... More

We stayed two nights at the Armistead in Newport. It is on a quiet side street not far from a beach. The Cottege is filled with antiques and items of interest. The owners Charlie and Romana were very friendly and most helpful. We walked the cliff walk, visited two mansions, the Breakers and Rough Point. Both are well worth visiting.... More

We were beyond impressed by Armistead B&B. The place is beautiful, clean and the breakfasts are amazing! The hosts are warm, kind and make you feel right at home. My husband and I enjoyed a romantic pre dinner cocktail on the STUNNING porch and listened to the peace and quiet of the stunning neighbourhood. The location is amazing as you... More

Two weeks ago we returned to Newport and stayed at the Armistead. Every room is decorated differently and the antiques are a true conversation piece. . Romona and Charles were so warm and made us feel so comfortable and special. Romona is great at advising on where to visit and dine. She is a great cook, often beginning each breakfast... More
