I've stayed at other B&Bs in Newport and throughout New England and have never felt compelled to write a review until this moment, nor have I felt a desire to return to a B&B until Armistead. The Cottage is spotlessly clean. Our room was immaculate and so were the common areas. Not a hint of a dust bunny anywhere, surfaces... more

Romana is a treasure. A thoughtful hostess who makes you feel like you're visiting friends. Sweet kitties. We didn't get to meet Charles, although we heard his voice so we know he really lives there. In a beautiful neighborhood, Armistead Cottage is warm and welcoming and located a short walk away from the Cliff Walk. Bring your sneakers and explore... more

We can only say great things about Armistead Cottage. Breakfast was the highlight of each day - both the food and talking with Romana and her guests (who during our stay were all repeat visitors). We plan on also becoming repeat visitors, since I can't imagine a more entertaining place to stay. more

We had a wonderful stay at Armistead. Romana is a delightful, quirky hostess. The room was beautiful, comfortable and meticulously clean. Romana and Charles provide a warm, inviting environment. The food was delicious and mysterious but the portion size was a little small (our only complaint). The Carrot Museum is like nothing you have ever seen! more

Romana and Charles were excellent hosts and very informative. The "true owners" (cats named Kicia and Midnight ) were gracious in their acceptance of out visit to their domain. We had a large, comfortable room which was beautifully decorated. We truly enjoyed the excellent food prepared by Romana and her beautiful sense of humor. We found it to be very convenient... more

We stayed in the lovely Lilac room for one night. Romana was so much fun! She went out of her way to make our stay as plesant as possible. She cooked a lovely breakfast to order and everyhting was top drawer at her house. We even had a couple of Charles sightings. I really missed her the rest of the... more

My husband and I had such a wonderful time staying at the Armistead Cottage. This B & B is nestled in a very nice neighborhood which is walking distance to Thames Street, the mansions, and the Cliffwalk. Romana was an incredible host and she went out of her way to make us feel special and at home. Not only does... more

Romana's carrot "museum" is a must-see, but so is the rest of this eclectic and charming B&B. My husband and I spent four nights at the Armistead, and we had a lovely time. Romana and her hubby (Yes, there was finally a Charles sighting come Friday night!) are warm, funny, and very friendly. Best of all, the accommodations were comfortable... more

Our stay at the Armistead Inn was just perfect. From the moment we entered Romona and Charle's beautiful home, we felt like old friends. The rooms beautifully decorated and very clean were warm and inviting. The food and 'entertainment' at breakfast by our charming hostess, Romona, was outstanding. She is warm and funny and made our stay even more enjoyable.... more

I had a great time at the Armistead Cottage. Romana & Charles were great. They made you feel right at home from the time we walked through the front door until we left. They both were very entertaining, very warm and friendly. The room we stayed in was very clean and we had our own private bath. Romana cooked us... more
