Stayed for one night on our visit to New England. Was made to feel home from home. The breakfast was great with cinnamon muffins to die for. Scrambled eggs and bacon too. Couldn't have been friendlier. Would recommend it to anyone.

I stayed at this place few weeks ago. The shower/toilet/sink was 3 ft away from the bed. I couldn't open the window and it was very hot in the room and I couldn't control the heat. The TV remote didn't work. There was only one glass in the room even though we were two people. The bed was not that... More

Please allow me to correct the inaccuracies contained in this review. The shower/toilet sink is not 3 feet away from the bed. The bathroom/bedroom are not all together. They are in 2 separate rooms. Please visit our wedsite & take the video tour to see for yourself. The reviewer stayed in the Queen/Jacuzzi room. There is no problem with the... More

I treated my daughter to her first stay at a B&B after graduating college, and was so happy to have selected the Historic Hill Inn. We had a wonderful breakfast with couples from Germany, Nova Scotia and North Carolina. We enjoyed getting local tips from the owners and learning about their journey to Newport. The room was very comfortable, and... More

This place is charming for people who appreciate historical New England. We stayed here again a few weeks ago and our room was even nicer then it was the first time. The hosts were extremely accommodating to our special needs - we came to spend the Jewish sabbath in Newport and logistics led to us arriving within minutes of the... More

We stayed at this inn for one night. That was more than enough. On the pro side, the proprietor Richard, was pleasent and assisted us with directions to the local eatery. The location was excellant and restaurants were within walking distance. The inn is situated in a very quiet neighborhood. On the con side, when we first arrived, we could... More

The property is very nice. Pay attention to the room sizes. The owners are very upfront about the size of the rooms and two of them are a little small. We would have been very happy with the Queen room if we had been on a car trip. We were on a motorcycle trip so with all the gear we... More

My wife and I checked into Historic Hill Inn in September 2015. The room we were offered was unsanitary and foul smelling (stained sheets and dog odors). We informed the managers that we could not stay. We did not insist on a refund; we just wanted to leave. The managers then screamed the most vulgar insults at us, using outrageous... More

My boyfriend and I had to book a place relatively last minute in Newport and we chose another "bed and breakfast" a little further from the water. When we got to that place, it was pretty much a dump and my boyfriend insisted that we look around near Spring Street to see if we could get anything last minute. I'm... More

I am not sure if I stayed at the same place as the one many had good things to say about it, but my experience was totally different. The room is so small it makes manhattan apartments look like a newport mansion. Noise is expected, I guess, but the bed is not even a queen (see pic). Breakfast was a... More

When using derision to make a point, there needs to be an element of humor in addition to a bit of truth. This review has neither. It's simply rude. We have a very informative website, complete with a video tour, which these people saw prior to booking. We also had larger, more Deluxe rooms available at the time they booked... More

Booked the budget room from a website but it was a bit too small for us when we saw it. Donna offered us another available room, which was fantastic; well worth paying a little bit more. It's a true home from home atmosphere with fantastic hosts, Richard and Donna. They were very helpful and knowledgeable about all the local amenities.... More
