I stayed at the John Banister Mansion on a few occasions & I loved the atmosphere. It's a small little inn that is located in the heart of Newport. The hotel is a few blocks away from the Clarke Cook House, Banister Wharf, and the night clubs. So I highly recommend it for the location & value of each room.

I've been to this inn on a number of occasions. It's centrally located in Newport and has access to all the bars/ restaurants on Thames Street. The prices for the rooms are a steal through out the year. The inn keeper is a friendly man who's always willing to help out to fit your needs.

Stayed here for the boat show. It is in a great location very close to the wharfs. It was also much less expensive then other accommodations in the same location. It is an old building like most of the B&B's in Newport. The room could use a new coat of paint, it looks as if the last time it was... More

This inn was a great get away in the middle of Newport. The hotel had a sense of place and history with all of its nautical seacaptain paintings and antiques. We could see all the sailboats from its front steps and Clark Cooke House and Black Pearl Restaurants were a stone throw away. Our room was furnished with 2 double... More

This hotel / B&B without the breakfast has a lot of potential. It is presently SLOWLY undergoing renovation. I get the impression that the owner is lacking the necessary funds to make this a really nice place. Examples, rooms are not properly furnished or cleaned. Drapes, bedsheets , towels are falling apart. The location is excellent - 2 short blocks... More
