We just had our wedding and rented about 40 rooms. The Clarkeston, Admiral Farragut and Cleveland house virtually were all ours. What a great venue for housing a wedding crowd! This was really a highlight of the wedding for all of our guests. The hospitality of Rick and his staff was impeccable. Pros: 1)Amazing location to downtown, 1 block form... More

My girlfriend and I stayed at the Melville Inn over the weekend of the Newport Jazz Festival. It's a very cozy inn, well within walking distance of the center of town and no more than a ten- or fifteen-minute drive from the various Gilded Age "cottages" and cliff walk. The innkeeper is very accommodating. He's a wonderful breakfast host. He... More

On a last minute whim my husband and I booked a mid week summer stay at this inn. It was by far the most reasonable rate for the area especially at this time of year. We were so glad we selected this B&B. The location is excellent, one block off of the main strip on a quiet street. They have... More

I had never been to Newport so I had no idea what to expect and no idea of locations. We planned a last minute weekend but couldn't find anything in "Newport" that was affordable so I booked a motel from a low-end chain in "Middletown" which I understood to be just a few miles away from the center of the... My husband and I enjoyed our stay in Newport. We randomly found the Inns of Newport and could not have been more pleased. The Inns are made up of several homes each with a breakfast area. When we arrived, the owner/manager offered us a better room than what we had originally booked and let us look at several rooms before... More

Need to get their act together. Nice people but just a little off in the area of service. Room was not cleaned on second day until after 5:00 pm, they need more staff. Breakfast nothing to write home about, they always seem to be running to catch you.

Tucked away in a quiet, shady street are several inns with a New England sensibility. One, the Clarkeston, was our choice and our treat. Flowers were being planted in pots and baskets while we were there. We spent four days in Newport and enjoyed a very comfortable bed, in a comfortable, attractive bedroom, delicious, complete breakfasts, and helpful answers to our... This was a fantastic stay for several nights in the middle of old Newport! Just two blocks from the wharf, we found all the food and shopping we could want within walking distance. From the moment we arrive the staff and manager were all incredibly helpful. We arrived late, so I already felt bad, but they greeted us warmly and... More

My colleague and I had to spend an entire summer in Newport (will pause for sympathy) launching one of our spirit brands. Unaware of how much time we'd actually be spending in Newport, we neglected to book long-term accommodation. For most of the summer and upon learning we'd be sponsoring the Newport International Boat Show (an extremely busy time for... More

I have lived in Newport many years and returned with my extended family for a visit. Rick took care of everything, giving us great rooms. Rick was always there in the morning to make sure everything was good with rooms and service. Rooms were large, beds comfortable, bathrooms clean and plenty of off street parking, a must for Newport. A... More
