Last summer, 2014, we happened to stop by Pearl's while searching for a place for all the attendants and our family to stay for our daughter’s beautiful Newport wedding. Ray, the owner, did a great job on selling us on the fact that his three buildings (15 rooms) and large garden would be perfect for us all and would be... More

This place is disgusting. Would not trust owner! Has zero regard for guests. Amenities are better in India! Avoid at all costs. Should be shut down. Rooms booked (security deposit ) seven months earlier - cancelled that day! Ruined wedding for family! Had to call police to get refund. Worst ethics - Gardner checks u in! Dirty rooms - probably... This is an old house turned into a bed and breakfast at a minimum or absent investment. In our room paint is falling off and the bathroom and shower is exactly like an ild bathroom you would find at an old style house. No investment whatsoever to make it look more like an Inn than a normal old house! Breakfast... More

The positive first. The location is great and within walking distance of all of the shopping and restaurants. The house is charming-the exterior, that is. The negatives, however, are overwhelming. Neglect is evident everywhere. Lightbulbs are out and the interior is dark. The furniture and art are not era appropriate and are awkwardly sized and placed. The breakfast was boring,... More

Dishonest, disrespectful, thieving management!!!! I attended this hotel as part of a wedding party in June, when I arrived with a walking disability they notified me that my room was on the third floor, and they would not move me. We had to share a bathroom with two other rooms that led to problems at night, before breakfast and any... More

The entire hotel was reserved (and paid for in advance)for a bride and groom, their parents and some guests. Unbeknownst to any of them, Ray, the owner sold one of the buildings and when people showed up they were told they had to go to places he had found for them. Needless to say the places were horrible- one room... More

This place is a dump! Bathroom was moldy, towels are frayed, bed linens are so old and warn that you could read through them. The owner doesn't understand the concept of being an Innkeeper and certainly doesn't "get" customer service. He doesn't answer the phone. I would not recommend this place to an enemy, much less a friend. It is... More

My fiance and I stayed at the Pearls Boutique in Newport last week, and it was perfect! The room was clean, bed was extremely comfortable, clean bath and our room had a view of the harbor which was unexpected and such a treat! The location is steps away from Thames Street, Peter is fantastic with his recommendations of restaurants, and... More

The location of the hotel is perfect; in the middle of everything. The building is old and very charming. When we arrived our host offered a glass of the cool wine; it was perfect on the very hot day. Our room was clean with our own bathroom. In the back of the hotel is a beautiful garden with a nice... Pearls was such a treat. Room was clean, spacious and comfortable. Our host provided excellent recommendations during our stay and last but not least breakfast was delicious. Our stay was early in the vacation season so was relatively quite and cool enough in the evenings for a fire in the fireplace (duralogs only), which added to the feeling of romance.
