This is my second summer staying here for a week with children. This is not a hotel. It is a time share resort that rents various configurations of their rooms. It is set up so that they can rent the entire suite or just one room similar to a hotel room. I have found it less expensive to stay the... More

Let me preface this by saying we booked very late and were just grateful to get a room in Newport as a part of our road trip. Also it should be noted that the rooms were clean when we arrived. However for $300 for a single night this could only be described as painfully bad. I would still be slightly... More

I booked the Wellington through a third party site. They promised one price for a waterfront room and kitchen suite. When we arrived, the property put us in a tiny bedroom with a small bathroom. We went back to the front desk and asked for what we had booked. We were put into a waterfront suite, but they took us... More

This hotel is very expensive. We had 12 girls and split it and still ended up paying a lot...but that is to be expected in the area. The rooms we got had 2 full bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a kitchen dining room and living room, and 2 balconies. Basically it is an apartment. The pool is fine...surprisingly it wasn't packed being... My wife and I have traveled a little throughout the U.S. over the last 30 years. Since we don't have the opportunity to travel a lot we don't mind paying extra for very nice accommodations. We thought we were getting that with the Wellington Resort in Newport, R.I. We were DEAD WRONG. First off, this is not a resort or... More

I love spending Thanksgiving in Newport and this hotel rental has always been a great place. This year, we were located on the ocean side view overlooking the bay with the Newport Bridge lit up at night in the distance. The actual room is like an apartment with two bedrooms and bathrooms, a complete full kitchen, dining and living rooms... More

I thought this hotel was just ok. The layout of the hotel is arranged in a weird way; the rooms are in different buildings unconnected to each other. The buildings all look the same so it's easy to get confused about which building is yours. The 10am checkout time was a little odd, especially during the low season when there... More

This is a great, affordable, centrally located, and well-run hotel in downtown Newport. We booked a two-bedroom suite for a great price, and we had more room than we know what to do with. Our suite came with a full kitchen, dining room with dining room table, a large living room, and two full baths. Also, we had two decks... More

I have stayed here a few times for a girls weekend. The location is fantastic and it is great that it has an outdoor pool on the waterfront, however this last time I could not justify the crazy amount we spent(almost $800 night) with the condition of this particular unit which was extremely dated and rough. 10:00 check-out is harsh... Our family has been coming to the Wellington since our 2 kids were in diapers, and now they are in their 20's and we all still love to visit each July! Reason? So much to do both on-site and nearby, either by walking or biking. We often don't use the car more than a few times all week, for either... More
