We visited the Wynstone in early November for a quick getaway weekend. The room was as advertised with nice antique furnishings, a fireplace and a Jacuzzi. The only problem was that we were not the only guests in our room. Squirrels were nesting in the walls, making for a less than ideal stay. When I called the owner to try... More

The Wynstone was fantastic and we will definitely stay here again! Checking in and out was a breeze. Yes, check in was at a different location but extremely close by and not a hassle at all. We stayed in The Elms and other than the carpeting, our room was clean and cozy. We loved the fireplace and the jacuzzi. It... More

First thing to note is that this is not a hotel. It is a B&B - a very good B&B - or rather a chain of 5 B&Bs run by Inns of Newport. Each of the 5 buildings was once a merchants house and the rooms fitted out and decorated in the period style. You have to check in at... More

We were so excited to be sneaking away for a night alone with no kids...Rick was very welcoming, and had lots of suggestions for places to eat, or go for a drink. He had told us before we arrived that we would be upgraded from our original reservation at the Clarkeston Inn to a room at the Wynstone. It sounded... More

BACKGROUND I'm always hesitant about B&Bs because of their generally intimate nature. Fortunately this one was attenuated enough for me and would be for the, "leave me be" crowd. The Wynstone is the premium property in a set of properties that are essentially more of a small hotel chain than B&Bs. They are all owned by one owner, Rick, and... More

After booking through Groupon I wasn't expecting to get a great room. We stayed on the 3rd floor in the small apartment. The ac worked great, bathroom was a good size, and the cleanliness of the room was good. The cons would be, the narrow stairs to the 3rd floor made it hard to open the door if you were... More

Upon calling the Inns of Newport, I spoke with Rick who gave me excellent advice and information about his inns and their individual rooms, where to pick up the keys, where to park the car and booking dinner reservations ahead of time for the holiday weekend. His choices of restaurants were excellent. The room was charming and the bathroom big,... More

Stayed in the elms room with spa bathtub. It was our anniversary so we were willing to splurge a little. While the Spa bathtub was spacious and nice, the jets clearly hadn't been cleaned or run between us and the previous guests and when we turned them on, we were a bit grossed out. This and other details like no... More

This B&B is located in an old house in downtown Newport and contains 5 rooms themed on the Newport Mansions. We stayed in the Belcourt room which is themed onthe Belcourt Castle. It has a nonworking Fireplace and a 2 person Jacuzzi tub. I thought the room had nice amenities and is decorated with antiques and old fashioned wall and... More

I've rated this two star, due to the poor experience we had. When we arrived at the Wynstone, it was not obvious where to park, so I parked by the roadside & my wife found a sign on the door saying we had to collect keys from another building. After finally finding the other building, and going inside we could... More
