My thanks to the staff at The Chanler for accommodating us in our last minute plan for my birthday Our stay was perfect. Our room was beautifully appointed and the shower was massive and built for two. Great location and manicured grounds. Don't miss dinner at the Spiced Pear

I haven't really eaten here, apart from some snacks, but I strongly recommend the place. Wonderful atmosphere. Great place to have some wine and other drinks and to just sit with friends looking out over the bay.

I've reviewed the Chanler before. It again met all of our expectations. It is a beautiful place to stay, and the staff is delightful. We've had several visits here, and always see the same staff members, which shows that the Chanler is a good place to work.

My wife and I were very excited when we reserved what we thought would be the best hotel in Newport. Newport is certainly a delight. It is well preserved, authentic and lovely place to visit. We, certainly, plan to be back in near future to Newport. Unfortunately, we are not planning to stay at this hotel. The rooms are nicely... More

. There's some real hits and misses at The Chanler, and I suspect nothing will change regardless of how anyone feels. Ultimately The Chanler wants to be a grand European hotel from a past age - but it simply hasn't achieved it. It feels fake and lacks any grandeur or sophistication. The interior design is fussy and heavy handed. The... More

We booked our room for July 4th weekend. Going in, I knew that there was a lot for this quaint little hotel to live up to. We were paying quite a bit for a standard room and no pool on-site during the month of July. Upon arriving, we felt like we were the only guests at the hotel. The staff... More

I have been to many countries and stayed in many hotels, I alway book 4 or 5 star hotels, but nothing has ever compared to this. I have been meaning to write about this hotel for years, but with two young children it wasn't top of my list of things to do. However, now I feel I must tell anyone... More

Reservations: Made by phone; Julie was wonderful and the follow up was great. Check In: Seamless. We arrived early in the a.m., and our room, of course, was not ready. We were given cups of coffee, our luggage was retrieved from our car, we were encouraged to sit out on the lawn to relax. Very welcoming. Staff: As others have... More

Just got back from a 2-night midweek getaway to the Chanler. It was a truly outstanding experience. I stayed in the Georgian one night and the Block Island villa the 2nd. Originally, I had "settled" for the Georgian because my first choice of room (Block Island) was booked for the first night I would be there. However, it turned out... More
