My husband and I stayed here for two nights to celebrate our anniversary. Every moment was magical. This property is so beautiful and truly something you come across so few times even with extensive travel experience. The desk staff was friendly the moment of arrival. The rooms were well appointed and tasteful. I think our favorite part was lounging in... More

What an absolutely gorgeous view my hubby and I gazed at while enjoying our delicious late lunch on the veranda of The Chanler. What a great place to refresh yourself after walking the Cliff Walk. Everything from service to meal was excellent. We could not have had a better time anywhere else! It made our anniverary so special.

This hotel is very, very expensive, with beautiful grounds, gracious employees and a beautiful location with spectacular views but it charges a $5 housekeeping fee. I have NEVER, no matter where I've stayed, encountered such a penny pinching charge.

Dear scrjnke, Thank you for taking the time to provide us feedback on your stay at The Chanler. We appreciate the compliments on our team, the grounds, and our location. I am sorry to hear you were disappointed with the additional charge. I wanted to clarify that charging a housekeeping fee is only done when the entire mansion is reserved... More

The Chanler at Cliff Walk is a destination in itself. It is a beautiful mansion in its own right. It is, as named, right on the Cliff Walk with beautiful water views, along with beautiful gardens and flowers. The staff, from the front desk, to the drivers, valet, and housekeeping were top notch. Everyone knows your name and you feel... More

A beautiful house, set in lovely grounds, amazing staff (truly amazing), the biggest problem is that if you get a garden floor room, you have absolutely no privacy whatsoever, we came for three days of rest and relaxation and sadly got neither. Refuse to stay on the garden floor, as we should have done. The receptionists led by Haley could... More

I had high expectations for our stay at this hotel and the hotel actually exceeded my expectations. We have stayed in many wonderful hotels and this is definitely one of the best. I would recommend it without reservation. From the moment we arrived, everything was perfect. Our room was on the second floor and was extremely large and comfortable.. The... More

This is our second (of hopefully many) annual June stays at The Chanler. Everything was amazing as last time, gorgeous hotel and the staff were top notch. Everyone from the front desk to the chauffeurs and the dining room were 100 percent professional and great at service. Some teeny tiny things I noticed that just wanted to bring to attention.... The Chanler exceeded all expectations. We were guests twice in a ten day period. From the young and hip people at checking, to the very knowledgable free ride valets, to the really fine kitchen production, we were wowed by the high service level. We stayed in the Briar Rose and Georgian rooms - both quite different. The former had a... More

My husband and I were traveling around the Newport and Jamestown area and were having such a lovely time we decided to find a hotel to stay the evening. From the restaurant we were having lunch at, my husband pointed to a place on Cliff Walk, went online and found it to be The Chanler with one room available. We... More

We stayed here for a few nights during a New England tour we were doing and I am so glad we did. From the moment we got there, the customer service was impeccable and we were made to feel so welcome. We stayed in the French Provincial room and the views were amazing. The bathroom had a jacuzzi that looked... More
