My wife and I stayed here on 6/23/08 & 6/24/08 and we were not impressed. Here are the things we did not like: 1) The room had ants under the couch and along the wall closest to our bed. Some ants also managed to get into our suitcase as we unpacked our suitcases when we got home. 2) The window... more

My boyfriend and I stayed at the John Easton House for a long weekend. The location was great - walking distance to the center of Newport and the mansions. The room we stayed in was very nice! Do make sure they turn on the fireplace and give you the remote control as soon as you get there - you'll be... more

We had a lovely stay here which is why I am so surprised by the couple of reviews that are negative about the atmosphere and Jan, she was so helpful and friendly when we were there and I can only imagine that there was some personal circumstance that unfortunately effected her usually happy persona that we saw on our visit.... more

I recently visited the beautiful town of Newport. It was everything I hoped it would be except..... The atmosphere of the B& B was as cool as the New England Fall Air. I had researched the John Easton House On-Line and felt somewhat fooled. Upon arrival we were met by the home owner and greeted with a bill, rules and... more

24 hour tea consists of tea bags by the water cooler, breakfast was ok. Make sure you ask for remote control for fireplace because you may not be able to use after the maintenence man leaves. Bed was comfortable, although atmosphere was not. Newport is a very nice town. more

My wife and I just returned from an anniversary trip to Newport, RI It was our first trip and I highly recommend the town. The town was beautiful , the retaurants fantastic and the townspeople warm and friendly. However, we were somewhat disappointed by our experience at the John Easton house. The owner was not as warm and inviting as... more

Centrally located in a nice neigborhood just off Bellview Ave. Jan the owner is so warm and friendly she makes you feel very welcome and serves a delicious breakfast. Only thing we didn't care for is there are no common sitting... more

What a wonderful time we had at this beautiful b&b. We were thrilled with our large room with fireplace and incredibly comfortable bed. Jan was so hospitable...breakfast was delicious!! Couldn't get enough of the "To Die For French Toast." The best was that we had off street parking and literally walked everywhere. What a great time and great place to... more

My 2 girlfriends and I spent a "girls only" weekend in Newport and stayed at the John Easton House. It's a lovely inn and all three of our rooms were perfectly lovely and tastefully decorated. There were little amenities such as chocolates on our pillows at night and terrycloth bathrobes. Jan, the innkeeper, is a delight. She obviously enjoys talking... more

The John Easton House was a great intro to B & B's in Newport. The house was in a good location, not too close to the hustle and bustle of things, but close enough to have a nice walk to the water and attractions. The room we had was totally warm and inviting, and it was so adorable with it's... more
