We came down to Newport for the Flower Show and looked for an affordable place to stay. Found the Henry Collins Inn to be perfect for our needs. It was a bit hard to find, thanks to my dumb smart phone which decided to misfire on navigation. We finally called for directions. Best directions? It's just behind the Police Station...The... More

This June while vacationing in Newport Rhode Island, we had the opportunity to spend 6 fantastic days at the Henry Collins Inn. The Henry Collins Inn is a 12 minute walk from downtown Newport and a 10 minute walk from the Visitors Center. Parking at the Inn saved us from using the hourly and metered parking available downtown. After two... More

We stayed at Henry Collins inn for Memorial Day weekend in newport Rhode Island. We were so happy to find this little gem of a B& B. It is small and very comfortable and very clean and neat. It is owned by Serena and her daughter Alexis. They are wonderful and very friendly and helpful. The morning home made pies... More

Stayed here for a wedding/ vacation and would highly recommend the Henry Collins Inn to anyone visiting Newport. Had great conversations with the owners and they gave us recommendations for day trips and walking tours based on our interests. If you're looking for an affordable and genuine Newport experience, give this B&B a try--you'll be hooked after your first bite... More

We were glad to find this accommodation in Newport, definitely one of the less expensives ones, but certainly a very nice one, too. Our upstairs room was quite spacious, en suite, and comfortable and clean, with a small fridge. Breakfast was great, e.g. lots of fresh fruit, delicious home baked fruit pie and, in the weekends, eggs and bacon cooked... More

This place is a budget minded B&B - clean, tidy and a great value. The area of town is not bad at all, and the proprietors are gracious and accommodating - and they bake pies and fresh breads almost every day! Walking distance to the marinas and tourist wharfs. The TVs are tiny and the common areas are not air... More

When I first booked this Inn, the reviews were not favorable. However, a final check before we traveled to Newport made us excited to stay here. We were not disappointed. The Inn, in a residential area, has a homey charm, which seems to reflect the personalities of the innkeepers/owner. Our room was charming and more than ample, with some very... More

We were not expecting much due to previous reviews but was pleasantly surprised. This b&b is cute, clean and went beyond our expectations. Great value. It is close to downtown. There is parking. Lots of convenience stores, restaurants and bars nearby. It is next to a police station so we felt safe. The breakfast is homemade and incredible. The owners... More

Many reviews about the Henry Collins Inn on this site are out of date. Having just stayed at the Inn on August 16th and 17th of August, 2013, I note here a small, neighborhood place with the nicest people who run it - they have owned the Inn for about a year. There are five rooms, and the two smaller... More

Stayed in late June 2013. After reading reviews I was a little apprehensive but all was well. The area was more residential across from police station and a community house and worship house. Not too far from the tourist area about a 4 block walk to the visitor information area. I would not classify it as seedy or bad. The... More

Thanks for your kind assessment. We enjoyed having you stay with us! You are absolutely right about our ignorance regarding the restaurants. We will have to take a tour and taste of our local restaurants .... A bit outside of ourselves because we are homebodies, really, and we love to cook at home. But I promise we will be better... More
