Needed a one night stay for a wedding on a Saturday. Lots of stairs. Not all rooms have a bath. Try the rooms on the 2nd floor great location., free parking. Nice folks. Room 5 had a weak Shower strong a/c. Smallish room. This is doable for what we needed. Not for the. Weak knee.

I recently booked this property for my daughter’s wedding in Newport. We were there for 6 days and Margaret was very accommodating and helpful in all aspects. We needed a "home" that could house both families, with "lots" of children including an infant and the Chart House Inn fit our bill. If there was one inconvenience it would be the... More

Clean, quiet, and affordable with an unbeatably convenient location, walking distance to restaurants and shops on Thames Street, the warfs, even a gas station right around the corner. The innkeeper Margaret was friendly and accommodating. Adorably decorated. Would confidently recommend it to anyone!

Thank you Helena for your comments. I strive to provide a comfortable and casual atmosphere for everyone at the inn. Many guests do not realize we are open year round and are a pet-friendly inn. We have just finished refurbishing Room 1 and the private bath this winter. The walls have been re-painted and the bath re-decorated into a nautical... More

We did book this Inn last minute whilst we were driving to Cape Cod - it was a beautiful April weekend and so accommodation was scarce. The only room left was the suite and it wasn't ready for someone to sleep in when we arrived which is fair enough. However, even after it had been "cleaned" it wasn't really up... More

My fiance (now husband) and I stayed at the Chart House Inn over Memorial Day weekend this year. Had a great stay! The accommodations were clean and comfortable, and the location couldn't be beat! The Inn Keeper was lovely - very friendly and made us feel like we were at home.

The location of the Chart House Inn is excellent, within short walking distance to the main parts of town. The innkeeper was very friendly and accommodating to our little dog. We got the room in the front which was quite nice. The front lobby / living room downstairs is nice too. Bathrooms are a bit run down but they are... More

Booked this Inn for 2 nights. Rooms small and basic. Unpleasant smell in one room. Building in poor condition. Some areas of Inn unkept and dirty. We were mislead by good reviews which did not match our experience.

I don't think you can go wrong here. Comfortable clean lodging, lovely relaxed and welcoming host, pet friendly, great location easily walkable to wharf attractions, free parking (not to be underestimated in this town), charming historic street... I've come to Newport year after year and this gets chalked up as a great find that I heartily recommend to others. My... More

My husband and I stayed at the Chart House Inn for one night in August while passing through Newport. The Inn is in a beautiful, quiet street while still walking distance to all the restaurants and attractions Newport has to offer. Our twin room, while small, was very clean and comfortable, as was our bathroom. Margaret was a lovely host... More

This straightforward B&B is perfect for folks seeking an affordable spot with good atmosphere in the heart of Newport. Location is a quick walk to the harbor and around the corner from great restaurants, bars and shops on Thames Street. Parking is free and part of the property. Margaret, the innkeeper is terrific and prepares a fresh Continental breakfast daily.... More
