My family and I stayed here after Christmas and had a wonderful time. This place is within walking distance of most things in the downtown/warf area. Rick was a great host and was very accommodating. My family rented the suite on the 3rd floor as well as another bedroom on the same floor. Both rooms were very clean and well... More

Me and my boyfriend came for New Year's Eve and to spend a few days in the town. We picked this location on a Groupon deal and it was my first time there so I was pretty excited. From the first minute we checked in the owner was overly accommodating to us, changed our room to a nice one, gave... More

Stayed here for one night on September 26 2015. The tariff was beyond what we thought the accommodation was worth. In excess of $445 for a basic room albeit with full breakfast. Admittedly the support staff were very good but we felt that we paid more than what should be expected for this location

Dear Guest, We do understand your question about room rates. The weekend you stayed was during the Newport Food & Wine show, a very busy weekend in Newport. While we charged rates ranging from $229-$339 for a 2 night stay during the weekend, you chose to stay for Saturday night only. In comparison, the two main hotels in town were... More

DO NOT STAY AT THIS ESTABLISHMENT Myself, my wife and son checked into the Clarkeston Inn on the Thursday afternoon. We had booked 2 standard queen rooms for 2 nights. On arrival at check in the proprietor said that a number of rooms were available and we could opt for an upgrade if we wished. A member of staff showed... More

Upon arriving to Clarke Street, I found the street to be full of the most quintessential charm you would find in Old New England. There are four b & b buildings on Clarke Street that are run by The Inns of Newport which are very, very old. For the age of these buildings, they are very well kept. The street... More

We discovered the Clarkeson--otherwise known as one of three "Inns at Newport"--via Groupon. The inns are located on a picturesque Newport street blocks from the bay. During our stay, we were the only guests in the entire house! Here's what we know: Excellent location, affordable price, parking available (at least during off season! Small lot behind building), comfortable bed, Colonial... More

Breakfast is basic but good, made fresh to order in a cozy dining room. Rooms were basic but pretty. No iron or hair dryer etc. Heating was very hot on the first night (controlled from another room) but we mentioned it and it was adjusted for the second day. Including breakfast this seemed reasonably good value and I would recommend... More

CLARKESTON, B&B Newport The CLARKESTON B&B is 1 of 4 Guesthouses, that belong together and stand next to each other on Clarke Street. The buildings are very old (1700) and it shows; you step into a different century. On the other hand, everything works fine with a large bathroom, but a rather small bedroom with limited storage for luggage (... More

We initially chose this place because of it's convenience and price, but now know that we won't stay anywhere else! Our room was beautiful and held all the same charm and character as Newport itself. Not to mention, the owner made us feel at home and welcome right away. We were also pleasantly surprised to get a hot, made to... More

I had planned a weekend with a friend visiting from Abroad. Having stayed at many amazing B&B's in the Northeast I thought a B&B experience would be something special. Unfortunately The Clarkston was anything but the charming B&B I had visualized. It was run-down, not clean and the photos posted on their site are misleading. In addition to that they... More
