My husband were celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary and decided to do something different, as we travel a lot. Decided to go to Newport for a change and found the Ivy Lodge on line, it was more then we expected for a Bed and Breakfast. It turned out to be the most relaxed getaway we had ever experienced. The staff... more

I took my boyfriend to the Ivy Lodge, it was better than expected. The Inn Keepers were away the weekend we stayed but we had a very gracious hostess Nicole who was wonderful. She showed us the map of the town and recommended restaurants and things for us to do. We stayed in the Library room, I was a little... more

As newlyweds and first time b & b guests, we had a really nice time. This experience will definitely set the standard high for any future b & b we visit. The Lodge is easy to get to from many of the main attractions and yet is a nice, quiet place to just relax and unwind. Breakfast is a treat... more

We stayed at the Ivy Lodge in Newport RI. The first two nights we had a hug room with a gas fireplace and king size bed. I had the best sleep in years there ahhh. Gourmet breakfast and just wonderful people to talk to around the dining room table. The building ins very unique, you must see it to believe... more

I had a wonderful overnight stay at the Ivy Lodge. The location is within easy walking distance for seeing several of the mansions. I called the day before I arrived and got a great off-season, mid-week rate. Darlene could not have been more gracious and hospitable. She provided me with a fabulous dinner recommendation - Mama Luisa's Restaurant - and... more

We chose the Ivy Lodge because of it's proximity to the "Cliff Walk." We were very pleasantly surprised to discover how lovely it was! The decor was amazing! The home had a sophisticated but very comfortable ambiance. Our room, the Van Allen room, was fabulous! Also, the location was perfect with "The Elms" less than a block away. We especially... more

We thought we would just pass through for a night. We wished we had given ourselves at least one more night to really enjoy the amenities and have more time to see the sights in Newport. Lesson learned. Lovely place with informative and gracious hosts. more

The Ivy is a gem in a residential area. So glad we didn't stay downtown. It's quiet, nicely decorated and the breakfast is delicious. The inn keepers were nice and even allowed us to check in early. Very accommodating folks. We met some wonderful people around the breakfast table. They have the cutest alcove room where my mother-in-law stayed; she loved... more

The Good: Ivy Lodge is a beautiful place to stay with an ideal location for the Cliff Walk and The Elms Mansion. (Note that you will need the car to drive to the downtown wharf area.) The innkeepers Darlene and Daryl are full of useful information and you are practically required to listen to Darlene’s introduction to Newport. It was... more
