The Sanford-Covell Villa Marina is a beautiful classic bed and breakfast inn. The ornate Victorian architecture is wonderful. Despite the multitude of knickknacks and ornate furniture, everything seemed reasonably clean and fresh smelling. The bed was very comfortable (We stayed in the Covell Room which had incredible harbor views, full of sailboats). The room size was generous. The bathroom was... More

This is an attractive mid 19th century mansion on the water in a gorgeous neighborhood in Newport. Pay close attention to the woodwork and the decorative painting in the rooms. Very convenient. Nice salt-water pool. It is lined in some dark stone, making it hard to see the bottom. The pool is set in a pretty lawn with flowering roses... More

We just finished a 4 might stay and were pleasantly surprised! Have not stayed in a B&B for many years! The owner & staff were friendly & helpful, our king bed on 3rd floor was great, bathroom was adequate. Home was built in 1870, so yes it was old. But this definitely added to the charm! The big draw for... More

Location is awesome.. Right on the water with a gorgeous view We came for a weekend with 10 friends to bike and hike. The owners were very nice and helpful. Beautiful home but Only comment was that there is a lot of clocks and knicknacks around. Also the breakfast could have been more substantial got the money we paid

My daughter and I spent three days at the Villa Marina on a trip that mixed business with pleasure. I have been here once before for a few days. It is a traditional bed-and-breakfast but done very well. The old building is located right on the water. There is an outdoor, heated saltwater pool with spa, a very nice backyard... More

My fiancé and I spent one night in the Victoria Covell Room for my birthday. We were greeted at the door by a very nice man and given a short tour and history of the house. The house is an eclectic mix of decoration, bordering on cluttered but still charming. It is an old house and has a slightly musty... More

We stayed in the Dolphin room which is a newer room off the dining room, with direct access to the porch and water views. The room had a nice sitting area and a comfortable bed as well as a tiny private bath. Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful in suggesting places to eat and things to do. We loved asking... We were introduced to this wonderful B&B by the visitor information folks in Newport. Set right on the water with killer views in a house full of history and charm. The back porch was a prime spot for sunset and included comfortable furniture and blankets for the cool autumn evenings. The house is located on a block full of historical... More

We stayed at the Sanford-Covell in July for the Newport Folk Festival. It was exactly what we wanted!! We had the most beautiful and romantic room on the third floor with a bay window and waterfront view. We had a wonderful large bathroom with two sinks and a great shower. We loved the location and the decor. We felt like... More

Totally agree with reviewer from Jersey about not sleeping. If all the clocks were timed to chime together it wouldn't be too bad but they all go off at different times. Plus the church clock which is shut down after 10pm and then chimes again at 7am with all the night chimes in addition to the 7am one!! Bring your... More
