It was hard to find a reasonably priced inn or b&b in Rhode Island at the end of Sept and I was worried that the Inn would be overpriced esp at a first glance but it was great. Our room was huge and very comfortable, the staff was excellent and went out of their way to help, the inn itself... more

We had a great stay at the Fitzroy Inn in Newport. We got a fantastic room, very spacious with large windows and lots lof light. The only drawback of the room was, that we heard the air conditioning of the room next door, which was very annoying. The staff is very helpful and friendly. We spontaneously decided to extend for... more

Love this place. We had the king room with the deck, just amazing! Beautiful view, incredibly comfy bed, wonderful shower. Nicely decorated-homey without being frilly. In a great location with its own parking which is critical in Newport. The innkeepers were great too. Terrific breakfast and they even have free wifi! Cannot imagine a more perfect place to stay in... more

My wife and I stay here often, and it truly is one of our favorites. We have stayed here about 5 times over the last 4 years or so, and have never been disappointed. The staff is very friendly, and kudos to John in that regard. The location on Thames St. is very central, and within walking distance to most... more

Stayed at the Admiral Fitzroy in March of 2009. They were having a winter weekend special and we are glad we took advantage of that. The rooms were big and very pleasantly decorated making it feel so warm and inviting. The people at the front desk were very helpful and courteous even with our late arrival. As part of our... more

We loved the Admiral Fitzroy. In addition to the amazing location, the place had a perfect amount of charm, without crossing the line to cheesey. The rooms were a great size, we had a queen size bed and then an additional day bed. As mentioned by others the breakfast was fabulous, and the fresh cookies were out of this world.... more

The loveliest place ever! Tucked away from the world, this hotel combines the smell of English gardens with Swiss cleanness and American friendliness. The breakfast is by far the best and the healthiest we had on our entire trip along the East Coast and was prepared - as was everything else - with so much love for detail. Quintessentially quaint... more

We stayed two nights at the Admiral Fitzroy and loved it. The staff were very friendly and helpful and our room was lovely - nice sized bathroom as well. The location is perfect and they have parking as well which is handy if you have a hire car like we did. The breakfasts were delicious (especially the orange and cranberry... more

My husband and I stayed at the Admiral once again a couple of weeks ago. We choose to stay here because it's like being at home. Very comfortable, clean and spacious. I love those tiny fresh baked muffins and scones in the morning. The Inn is wireless which is a plus. They have a public computer in their 'sitting room'... more
