We are annual visitors to the beautiful town of Medora, ND, and every year we always stay here. It is wonderful to have your own house to stay in while on vacation, especially somewhere quaint, where you go to relax and enjoy the peacefulness of the Badlands. Now granted these homes of Custer's cottage are not brand new, nor are... More

The host Mary is very patient and helpful. I slept in the wagon at a very reasonable price. The experience is unique. I had a good time staying there, and would recommend to friends. Besides, it is really close to the national park. You cannot go wrong.

Let me start my review by saying, if you are looking for higher end accomodations with all the extras this is definately not for you..however-if you want an inexpensive, clean place to stay for your visit to Medora then I highly recommend this place. This is a privately owned older house and you can either rent the main floor of... More

We stayed here as a work crew off and on for 8 weeks. Mary and Kenny are the best hosts for this type of accomodations. We stayed in a partially completed house and they were always there when we needed them. the were very helpful with local services, as there are few, and our stay could not have been better.

Mary has a house that she rents out. That is what we got for the night. She was going through some renovations at the time. The first thing I noticed about the house was the smell. It smelled like cats or dogs had peed on the carpet and the smell just lingered. There was no air conditioning, just a single... More

This is a review of the Wooly Wagons next to Custer’s Cottage operated by the same folks at the same location. The wagon is the best value, and most fun surprise, in Medora! It is located within easy walking distance of town. Summer tourism here causes high hotel and camping costs. So this is not only a place to stay... More

We read reviews prior to booking, and the cleanliness of the house was mentioned. This is important to us. However, this house in not clean! The oven looked like it had years of grime inside, the refrigerator was dirty with old food, the ventilation grilles were covered in dirt wiht dust balls in front of them. The front yard was... We were looking for somewhere reasonably priced to fit 6 people comfortably and we found it at Custer's Cottage. We rented the upstairs which had 4 bedrooms, living area, kitchen and bathroom and had plenty of room. We arrived in 90 + temperatures to find the house was cool and extremely comfortable with a very efficient air conditioner. The kitchen... More

This SO MUCH MORE THAN A HOTEL! You actually get a HOUSE with more than one bedroom, a kitchen, bathroom, TV/living room, and LAUNDRY! There is also a charcoal grill, if you like. Okay, so the look is 70s, but who cares? It could not be cleaner or more comfortable! My daughter actually got a HUGE kick out of the... More

Stayed here several years ago, but will be back. Good location to see the Theodore Roosevelt Nat'l Park, south unit. In the historic town of Medora, ND. Summer musicals, good food in Medora.
