The room is functional and very small. The rooms are basically 8 very small rooms in a double wide trailer from the 70's. The hot water from the shower last about 6 minutes but the room was very clean. The room was very hot then very cold due to the A/C in the room. It was a strange experience at... More

The Bunkhouse is the cheapest hotel in Medora. It is basically trailers. Other lodging in Medora is quite expensive so consider this an option if fancy is not a requirement. It is very close to town and Medora is safe so the Bunkhouse can be considered.

We were lucky enough to get the family suite at the bunkhouse this weekend after finding out everything else was full. The suite was two rooms connected in the middle, one with a queen and one with two twin beds. Both rooms had its own bathroom, television and dresser. There was nothing exciting about our rooms, however the bathrooms seemed... More

Medora is a tourist town. So as expected desk staff were friendly both at check in and checkout. Room was basic and generally quiet. Motorcycles early in the morning were a bit disturbing. Nothing fancy but had a good night sleep.

Stayed as part of a package deal for the Medora Musical and pitchfork steak dinner. Room was part of a large group of buildings and although clean and functional it was small. For overnight it suited our purposes but a longer stay would have been unpleasant after several days.

The Bunkhouse gets a very unfair bad rap. This facility is immaculately clean, spartan but adequate, reasonably price, comfortable and a good value. First and foremost: If you are looking for high end or resort accommodations you will need to skip Medora for neither at the Bunkhouse nor anyplace else is there going to be "resort quality". When in western... More

After five days at a luxury resort in Wisconsin, we booked a room based on a notion of thrift. What a mistake! Rooms are tiny and downright depressing, constructed of vinyl-covered boards with a slightly stained drop ceiling. The entire motel has a prison camp atmosphere, unrelieved by plantings or architectural interest. The sheets had a truly gross bit of... More

Terrible experience. Only reason to stay here is because of the lack of rooms during prime tourist season. Small room, small hard beds, everything is from the 70's and could not even shut the bathroom door all the way as it sticks. Air conditioner is basically right over a bed so either be too warm or get sick from the... More

While driving down the road to Medora we attempted to research hotels on our IPhone, but there was no coverage. When we got to Medora was pulled into the Badlands Hotel because it looked rather Western and fun, due to a miniature golf area. When we asked for a room we were told that they were filled at that location... More

The Bunkhouse Motel in Medora is like going back in time to 1950. The room is small, no ice machine except at the office, no coffee pot or frig or microwave, just a spartan room, with aged decor and your basic bathroom, and bed. If you are out of the room most of the time and only want a place... More
